- Investigators say a Mansfield man waited two hours before calling police after his 2-year-old daughter ingested fentanyl-laced pills. Michael Reed is charged with knowingly causing serious injury to a child.

@@GratitudeGriot it’s not about being “snarky” it’s the simple fact this mother allowed her man to bring drugs into the house constantly and have them within reach of the baby. These drugs obviously look like candies to adults as well. They should have never been in reach of the child.

Why was a child with her drug dealer dad alone? Does he watch the news? Now his two-year-old is dead because she did not know any better. The suspect was afraid of the drugs getting taken away or going to jail for any length of time. Now the father is going to jail for murder. This one could have been stopped. But instead, he chose not to.

It's refreshing to see a mother whom genuinely loved their child. I just wish she hadn't lost her child.
It's infuriating that the father could've gotten the mom for assistance or emergency services. He could've claimed she found them playing a park- it's dishonest, but at least she'd be alive.
Instead, he said, "I didn't want to lose my child, " so they both lost their child.

The roommate maybe a cooperating witness to what was seen when the child was unresponsive. So authorities will see it more wise to offer the roommate immunity in exchange for a statement/testimony that will lead to the conviction of the Dad going to prison.

My heart breaks for this mama left to mourn such a devastating loss. The most traumatic loss event that a parent could go thru. This woman will always have a whole in her heart that has deeply impacted the rest of her life. Why did he leave this deadly drug within a baby’s reach? He knew what it was he knew what it meant & he knowingly in gross negligence left this drug within a baby’s reach. He needs not to ever be free again. I’m sure he feels guilty and ashamed but his own selfish prolonged call to 911 killed his baby girl. Wow his own selfish love of himself killed this baby.

My husband was on drugs and I didn't know it. Addicts are good at hiding their addictions. I suspected it but I could never find proof.
Sounds like she a hardworking mom. A medical assistant who possibly doesn't make enough to afford childcare and she had no choice but to rely on the only other person who is legally responsible for caring for the child.
