Hey man, why don't you just open them both up and see what's inside? That would be the best way to see if it's a fake or not. Things like the boxes and markings etc do change from time to time with different runs of the same models.
I think a more definitive way to compare the two watches would be to weigh each one. If both are legit, they should be identical down to the gram since they should be made of the exact same materials. My feeling is that the fake one will not weigh the same as the legit one because the manufacturer probably skimped on some of the internal building materials. Are you able to weight the two watches? I'm curious if there's a difference.

Theres another couple of distinctive items that are obviously different from the genuine watch. If you look at the 5's in the outer casing, the genuine has square edges and the fake are slightly rounded. Also the 1's on the small dials have an accute angle on the genuine however have a 90degree bend on the fake. Im sending mine back!!!

My answer to your question is No! There is not a chance of finding a genuine one with any differences. These pieces are quality inspected before they are sold out of the shop. If there are any defects they would be destroyed or returned back to the supplier.
Interesting, but tiny differences that only show up by a direct comparison, plus I expect that the fake comes out of a nearby if not the same factory. Squeaks and millimetres variations may serve to find some differentiation, but will hardly affect the utility of the watch for the wearer. The one I’ve received has the engraved logo on the box, as well as the trimmed edges as per the original box. The watch came with an Australian and New Zealand price tag attached to it and the functions seem to be all in the right place. I’ll have to mention I ordered a different colourway though and the seller had a few other models such as the sentry and Kensington. I performed a cross check with other sellers and found that they did not have the kensington on sale.

First of all, the watch they demoed was fully matte black and as per my understanding and a bit of research, I found that the sides of the watch and (band+casing) were supposed to be a reflective shade of black (I used one of surfstitches photos as a guide) and the one I got HAD the reflective sides. The differences you’re pointing out really aren’t important as they seem to be mostly aesthetic. I’d be more curious about parts/materials quality. If they’re the same movement and materials inside the case then I don’t see the reason for not getting a knock off. Ultimately I buy my 51-30’s from legit places when they have sales but if I’m getting the same functionality with some very minor aesthetic differences (that really only a select few will notice) what’s the incentive for buying genuine?

My wife bought me one of these watches for christmas. You made some references between a fake and a real one in which u said if it has a 17h its fake if it has a 17m i believe u said was real? So 5 months later we called Nixon to verify and they said that is the date it was made has nothing to do with it being authentic. Infact nothing written on the back shows anything about a fake or original. Before you make these videos you need to check your facts. My answer to your question is No! There is not a chance of finding a genuine one with any differences. These pieces are quality inspected before they are sold out of the shop. If there are any defects they would be destroyed or returned back to the supplier.

@UtubeRevs So as sceptical I was, I got one from eBay Australia due to the eBay moneyback policy. The one I’ve received has the engraved logo on the box, as well as the trimmed edges as per the original box. The watch came with an Australian and New Zealand price tag attached to it and the functions seem to be all in the right place. I’ll have to mention I ordered a different colourway though and the seller had a few other models such as the sentry and Kensington. I performed a cross check with other sellers and found that they did not have the kensington on sale.
So what do you think? I can send pics of the product. Thanks really need some advice 😃

First of all, the watch they demoed was fully matte black and as per my understanding and a bit of research, I found that the sides of the watch and (band+casing) were supposed to be a reflective shade of black (I used one of surfstitches photos as a guide) and the one I got HAD the reflective sides. Would love to discuss this with you but maybe personally? Also, I lack the resources to make a video so there’s that. Is there a way I could send the photos to you?

The differences you’re pointing out really aren’t important as they seem to be mostly aesthetic. I’d be more curious about parts/materials quality. If they’re the same movement and materials inside the case then I don’t see the reason for not getting a knock off. Ultimately I buy my 51-30’s from legit places when they have sales but if I’m getting the same functionality with some very minor aesthetic differences (that really only a select few will notice) what’s the incentive for buying genuine?
