    I was at this presentation but not as a student, no I was the 60 yr old guy who used to fix up the venue and chief cellerman. But I was allowed to listen in as I was a massive fan, after the interview I stayed around so I could meet one of my heroes Tony even allowed a couple of photos to be taken. Solid down to earth rock legend.

    N.I.B. Means nativity in Black,from the movie Black Sabbath, starring Boris Karloff, I don’t know why Tony is telling the real story about the song, N.IB., perhaps I am off my rocker but that’s what I read and believe!! Good Day. B Sabbath, I love it!!

    Can you post the whole thing, since you have the footage? Most questions for Black Sabbath members are the same thing over and over. Here, at least one kid asked about something different.

  • @apocyldoomer
    @apocyldoomer 2 года назад +1

    Black Sabbath created Heavy Metal, thank you all for that, I like Death Metal also, then I can listen to classical music right afterwards, Bach, Mozart, Vivaldi, etc, yes, I am weird that way, I grew up on Classical music, punk rock, 70’s brass bands, for my Brother, God rest his soul, was an excellent trumpet player, and certainly turned me on to bands such as, The Tubes, Tom Waits, etc, and myself got into punk rock, Ted Nugent, and other genres, variety is the spice o life, jazz, Big Band,mother Roaring 20’s,mdepending on my mood! It’s all good, music is my life, played trumpet, drums, but did not excel, thanks to an Ahole music teacher in 7th grade, Ernie Meyers, nobody liked him, a dik he was! Oh well!!

    This is nice but the interviewer should have sat at the same level as Tony - he has to tilt his head up and to the side. And the lounge chair Tony is sitting on looks the part but is only good for reclining, not sitting upright.

    Tony was quoted years ago saying he wanted to write scary music, so I'm not convinced that Sabbath ( who took their name from a Boris Karloff horror film ) ever intended to be or be known as a satanic band, IMHO, but maybe I'm wrong. I'm still convinced that NIB does mean "nativity in black" because why would u name such a song with its subject matter after an inside band joke about a member's beard; not buyin' that one. The one question I'd like to ask Tony is whether he ever intended to have that Sabbath sound BEFORE his accident; I wonder if the strings he ended up using after the accident and tuning his guitar lower so his fingers could handle it suddenly made him realize that he had a whole new sound that he and the band could work off of.

    Hmm, I heard that Tony Iommi and others were dabbling with the Occult, and Tony woke up in bed with a Black Figure pointing a finger at him, saying, you are the chosen one, that’s why they started wearing big Crucifixes to ward off evil. I believe this accounts it, but perhaps Tony did not to talk about that encounter, so that others would not fall into the trap! Ok, that’s all good!!
