If she's done business with the Duong family, they could be looking for confidential data about them. For instance, if the Duongs are being investigated for corruption, bribery, or whatever, they may be looking for evidence of it in their dealings with the mayor. There are many possibilities. I can't stand the mayor or mayors like her or progressive DAs, but taking 30 seconds to think through something rather than blurting out what you want to be true is generally a good idea.
