Beautiful to watch and listen to with a clear, easy to understand explanation of what this magnificent palace Blenheim is all about and its past and its present owner "The Duke of Marlborough." What splendor this is and to enjoy living in it.
Sir you have done a magnificent video and also told the history of this palace. There's so much clarity in your language that I understood every word spoken by you. Thank you very much. Salisbury Park, Pune , India.
Is the thirty-foot ceiling height of the Library measured only from the top of the Entablature/Cornice, or does it include the vaulted space beyond the cornice?
A narração é perfeita para pessoas como eu, que há muito não utilizo. o idioma...Sou brasileira e não tenho oportunidade de intercâmbio com pessoas que utilizam o idioma. Grata.
The Palace of Versailles was built and funded by an absolute monarchy. The French King built it so grandly while looting France's wealth because he could do what he wished and wanted to show off his power so nobody could challenge him. By this time, the British monarchy were becoming constitutional, meaning they had to get permission from parliament to do anything and could not build super grand palaces. And most importantly, this palace is not a royal palace! It was allowed by Queen Anne as a gift to the nation in celebration of Britain's victories in a battle, however, was not a royal palace.
Most art in palaces elsewhere in Europe were drawn and designed by the French. France as a nation was more into that sort of thing and it was easier to find artists from France at this time in history.
If Lord Churchill's wife was only 4 ' 10" and weighed 300 pounds she must've looked a lot a Weeble , that poor woman ... even if she was 6 feet tall and weighed three hundred pounds she still would have been obese .
PastorMikeUSMC Thank You !! Would you believe you are the only person that replied. Trick Question: W Churchill was in fact an honorary US Citizen. Would he then have all the criteria to be President ?
Perhaps in light of the fact that his mother was American he would have enjoyed dual citizenship. As such, he would have met the constitutional requirement had he resident in America at least sixteen years prior to running for office.
How about turning the volume off? You control your level of annoyance with the commentators voice that you can manage, not him. You're not beholden to listen if you simply want to watch.
Its a simple informative way to speak, pure narration without lots of fancy emotional reaction bshit.. Streight forward, direct, precise & simple.. I think this way all TV narration was made before the rise of the US Anchormans who started to make their stories Bombastic, fantastic, opulent & maybe sometimes centered more about the narrator himself then about the actual information.. I honestly like this way over many modern styles of narration, idc about how cool the narrator thinks this is, i like if he just gives me the infos.. So i think we should rather appreciate that this video features this old style.. There is enought content. That nonstop is like: " wow!! Thats so cool! Omg i couldn't do that!! Thats crazy!! Just immagine the amount of effort that went into that! Truly masterfull!!" I mean just give me data i can interprete shit on my own guys =) Sorry for the rant xD cheers m8

Informative. Thank you
While I was watching this film, I couldn't help but thinking that this old place could come tumbling down with people trapped inside!
I've been reading on this palace very interesting I love history.
Amazimg craftsmanship! Bet the electricity bill is crazy, though!
Yes especially in the winter can you imagine what it takes to really warm that place up even if they light all the fireplaces
MAGNIFICO !
Had to turn the sound off, couldn't take it any more

Your voice sounds like Churchill's a little I admire him
what is the name of the song with the violin? its beautiful!
I noticed that too! I would love to know as well.
Blenheim is just like my house.... except for the fact that it's a lot bigger and nicer than my house...
will never pair versalles ,a lot of art but very dark and obscure place ,good for the flemátic British caracter !!

Queen Anne was only that size near her death. She was pregnant 17 times! And was never robust. That was an exaggeration.
Winston Churchill was not buried at Blenheim....
Chatsworth is exceptional too
If the palace was a tribute to Britain's victory over France, how did they get a Frenchman to do the art work in the saloon?
Most art in palaces elsewhere in Europe were drawn and designed by the French. France as a nation was more into that sort of thing and it was easier to find artists from France at this time in history.
Money ... I'm sure he was paid enough money
set the speed for 1.25
If Lord Churchill's wife was only 4 ' 10" and weighed 300 pounds she must've looked a lot a Weeble , that poor woman ... even if she was 6 feet tall and weighed three hundred pounds she still would have been obese .
That was a statue of Queen Victoria I believe.
Simple, the war was long since over and the British government paid well in comparison to their French peers of the time.
I thought the President of the US must be a natural citizen of the US?? Was Mr Churchhill born here?
Are you insinuating that W. Churchill was a United States President?
PastorMikeUSMC Thank You !! Would you believe you are the only person that replied.
Trick Question: W Churchill was in fact an honorary US Citizen. Would he then have all the criteria to be President ?
+Jimpony1988 Churchill was part American even before he was given the honorary citizenship through his mother.
Mr. Churchill could never have been president, although many would have been thrilled to have him in that office. He was magnificent.
Perhaps in light of the fact that his mother was American he would have enjoyed dual citizenship. As such, he would have met the constitutional requirement had he resident in America at least sixteen years prior to running for office.
The narration is unbearable
You feel sleeping before the end of the video !
Kirsch Rot oh get over it Rot...your complaint is unbearably drama queenish
Nothing about Gladys Deacon
Beautiful house...appalling narrator!!!
amen to that! Incredible house, beautiful production, shoot the narrator! Please!
Don’t shoot him just mute him!
se me adorardes te darei todos os reinos da terra! estão todos mortos.
Hang on a minute.........didnt Gladys Deacon and her dogs wreck the place before the Duke of Marlborough booted her out?
just show the fucking house

i don't get what the problem with the narrator voice is? maybe you could tell me what specifically you don't like about it =) ty
@@J-IFWBR yeah I felt the voice was okay
I would kill to live in that palace!!
Then you would be in THE real "Big House" ha
This narrator could put me to sleep
This narrator has a pure, unwitting, killjoy approach, that makes one selfreproachful for not turning off the video.
get place to visit; wouldn't want to live there !
"great"
Shame. Those. Who. Think. Evil. Of. It
Okay, that voice really takes away from the video. Why would anyone talk like that, almost like they are a zombie???

@@J-IFWBR I think the voice is okay I'm not sure why people are complaining
i managed to watch 1.42minutes and have to leave - goodbye.........couldn,t listen to that 1 minute longer...............awful.
I made it to 2:29. i must have a lot more stamina than you do. The voice is terrible, that's for sure. So affected.
Better at 1.5 speed. A bit anyhow.
Lame VO.
Old fashioned way to voice over a video. Unbearable
i like this way very much tbh.. way better then many modern ways, if you can't appreciate this idk..
I lasted 41 seconds. What a bore! Not the house but the narrator!
don't bother visiting , it's an over priced attraction with no customer focus.
But don't they serve snacks and beverages , hot tea ?
this man needs to shush up
