Gary did an amazing job introducing you to these places that I didn't even know before. And they all look great! While you are a foodie genius Joe. You are able to explain the tastes, textures and intregrients of food very well which is important to make a good food video.
Gary did a sterling job indeed. Really happy you enjoyed the video, you will have to go and try them yourself. Not sure I am a foodie genius haha, but thanks for the compliment and thanks SO much for becoming a channel member.
Great video Joe. Seems to have a good flow. Gary is very knowledgeable about thai food, must be a pleasure to meet him and try out all these authentic dishes.
Thank you! Yeah, it is always awesome to hang out and film with him, besides getting on well, I am always learning with him because he knows so much about Thai cuisine.
You guys are so in-depth in Bangkok street food really. I am Bangkokian for all my life, visit so many countries and cities in the world but I have never been all the places in video even I know it's existed. The places where you lead us to, are truly fabulous and famous locally. I'm glad that you seem to enjoy on what you do. Keep exploring, Thai people give a big thank to your kind visit and your are always welcome here.
That isn't a bad thing, I lived in London for 10 years and still there are always new places to see and find. It is impossible to know everywhere but the beauty is when you discover new places, especially when they are delicious.
Hi Joe. Thanks for the video on these amazing street food stalls. We went to three of the four you featured and only missed the crab place because it was closed today. It's a great area to visit. Such a relaxed atmosphere walking and eating in this part of the city. We found all the foods delicious. Will definitely come back for the crab another time. 🙏
No worries John, I am glad you enjoyed it and even more impressed that you have been already. Did you manage to get to the crab restaurant in the end? It is a nice morning of wandering around isn't it.
@@hungrytoexplore unfortunately we didn't get back to the crab but hopefully next time. It was a nice change from the usual hustle and bustle that is Bangkok. We shared a table at one point with some locals on their lunch hour and then went off to have coffee with them. Overall a top day. Thanks again.
Many thanks to both you and Gary for this video. I've driven down this road a hundred times, but I had no idea there were such hidden gems in the small alley. I will put it on my bucket list.
@@hungrytoexplore After watching your review with Gary, I became intrigued by Aunty Pien's pan-fried chicken noodles. I decided to give it a try. It did not let me down. One issue was that I had to wait 45 mins for my turn. Aunty Pien stated that her restaurant has seen an increase in customers since two Farang RUclipsrs reviewed it and shared it on social media.
This clip is fun. Gary has an excellent knowledge of Thai food, while you can also be good at describing the flavors, texture, and smells of the foods you eat. It's a perfect collaboration.

thanks Joe and Gary for MORE recommendations :) Getting ready - will be in BKK in two days time (Wednesday) - love that friend chicken @ the 1st stop (not so much the chicken blood). Now to map out these places - get the sneakers on and spend hours walking around (at least these places are near a MRT - this is my 1st trip back in 3 yrs - these stations weren't there then). Going to have to watch the waistline for the week that I'm there :)

wise! but it still is not as good as in Thailand. But better than the cheap supermarket chicken I guess. You are right, I love Thai street food, so much flavour and choice.
I'm Thai, so I have chicken broth to eat later to reduce the spiciness of the chicken dipping sauce. and for freshness We don't usually pour soup on rice. because the taste of the chicken sauce will be weaker
It may seem strange, but when either you or Gary post a video, particularly of the food being cooked, I can smell it, without any "smellovision" technology. I would much rather be there and enjoy it. Keep at it, Joe, you have the right attitude for this.
You need to teach me how, I want that skill haha. Really happy to hear that you enjoyed the video though. It was fun to film and glad that comes across into the video.
I’ve learned to cook in my lower secondary school 60 years ago. Dipping sauce of Khaoman Gai is a special thing that each cook has his own secret recipe.
Authentic kao man gai, star of the show I would definitely order chicken blood. Gary explain the recipe really well, overall delicious meals that I would love to try… winter Melon in a soup!!! I’m intrigued how would that taste, Probably like chow chow. 3 stop was the best I just know that food cooked in pork fat is much moorish pork and the crackling 🙌🏼
Yeah, you would definitely love that, only if you can handle the spicy sauce though haha. Gary is fantastic, a gentleman and pleasure to work with. Winter melon is very similar to chayote, yes, you will know exactly how that is in stews. It soft and sucks up all of the flavour of what it is cooked in.
