- After 1 years of beating these boots to death, they have proven their metal. A comfortable, supportive and weather resistant Tactical footwear that have outlasted anything else I've ever owned including my G.I. I've finally found footwear that will hold up to whatever you throw at it.
I have had mine for 5 years now. I have used them for hunting, fishing, hiking, work, and daily use. No issues, they are durable and comfortable.
Do these have a steel or composite toe cap?
No.
I've had mine over one year now and love them.
I mean as in daily wearing these boots and even pushing the lawnmower n all all last summer.
I could say alot more on them ,but I'm just gonna say totally agree with ya!!!!
Got off to a rough start with my first pair of these but 511 made it right. On my second pair, I’ve worn these, daily, for 14 months. I wear them with jeans. I wear them with khakis at work. I wear them everywhere for everything. They are supportive, light, and comfortable. Honestly, I’m either in these boots, or I’m in sandles airing out my feet lol. They are not waterproof. I commute on a motorcycle and they are great to let in air, but if you get caught in rain, they’re soaked through. They dry quickly though and they don’t show much staining or fading although my left boot is getting more worn due to my shifter - nothing terrible though. I don’t want this boot to be waterproof because that would sacrifice breathability, weight, etc…BUT, I would love to see this exact boot with a composite toe. Is it a “go to hell and back boot?” Probably better options than this if you know your getting in a mess, but for a man’s everyday decently rugged footwear, hard to beat.
511 makes a great boot, I've had many pairs. My issue with them is the toe cap. Every pair I have ever had the toe cap comes unglued. I still buy em as it takes about a year or so for the toe cap to begin coming lose. If they could address that issue I would say they make o e of the best boots out there. The best boot imho...Garmont t8 bifida...without a doubt.
could that not be fixed by a cobbler?
if I had the gear for that the first thing I'd do is sew them. is there a way for that?
I'm still working on my original pair and haven't had the toe cap come loose yet. It could be the way we use them that's different, but I still wear them for almost everything I do. Apologies for the late response. I had notifications turned off for some reason.
There Cool 5.11 desert combat boots ! MAN! Nice boot dude! From Baby Shannon!🤨🙏😇😇🙏🙏🙏🙏
I bought a pair just for the hidden knife pocket/sheath and the zipper side.
Also have Danner USMC RATs, Belleville USMC 590s etc etc.
THESE 5:11s have the side zipper and a hidden knife pouch. I don't have to say how USEFUL that knife pocket is when you are supposed to be clean and completely unarmed if you catch my drift.
Thank you for the review.
Time to see if they finally have my size.
I've been waiting for two years now.
" their mettle" .. Nice boots though and video . Thanks.
Are these waterproof? If so can I cross low water streams without my feet getting wet?
I wouldn't say they're 100% waterproof. They can handle heavy rainfall well, I don't know about crossing a river with them though.
I didn't get a notification that there was a comment. I apologize. These have a zipper on the side of them, so standing in water doesn't work out so well. Like others have said, I've had them in wet grass, washing the truck, crossing small streams on the rocks and splashing them with water from a hose and other things and my feet were always dry.
I use mine for fishing and camping. I love them. Comfortable.
Is the fit true to size?
i'm late to reply but yes they're very much true to size , do not go up do not go down
Sorry. I had notifications turned off for some reason. I hope you found a pair that worked for you.
Do you think they’d hold up to life on an ambulance?
Yeup I have had mine for 2 years now and I do work on an ambulance for 12 hours a day 4 or 5 days a week in rural areas, city areas, concrete, mud, blood you name it they have held up, I even put them through a grass fire once when I was a volunteer fire fighter. I also use them to hunt and for the range so they have gotten lots of use.
Thank you for the reply. I had my notifications turned off for some reason.
I've been looking for some hiking boots and new work shoes and found a pair that's perfect for both. Last week while working in an ER I seen a nurse get pooped on and it soaked into her shoes and socks so the waterproofing is exactly what i was looking for lol
Iv had 2 sets the wear out in 1 year. But i walk over 3000km per year in them and be very harsh to them great boots cheap tough buy them. They outlast garmonts
I like your video.
How is the fit? I wear 9.5 wide steel toe at work but 10 sneakers.
What size do you suggest?
Thanks
Apologies for the late response. I had notifications turned off for some reason. I used my regular boot size to order and they fit perfectly. I hope this helps even though it is really late.
Great overview, are these true to size or do they run a little larger?
Are the soles very sturdy? I’m trying to find boots with a steel plate like the army jungle boots.
The soles are great. 3000 to 4000 ks is what they seem to last before they wear away.
ive been using some 20 one odd year old Danner's for quite a while now, they work great, but their starting to fall apart, their big and bulky too. again still work, but I think its time to upgrade my footwear. I found these online and figured I'd take a look. this video really helped me, I think I'm going to pick up a pair of these pretty soon. thanks man, I love an honest review, not a sponsored review where the people cant say what they want to
