So what happened to this show is that Disney and Sony made a deal that gave Sony more flexibility in their film rights for Spider-Man while sending (some of) the TV rights back to Disney. I'd still love for it to get picked up again, but I'd be afraid they would ruin it.
One thing i love about 5he simp'istic animation is that it holds up extrremly well you could believe it was made today also this show has the best liz allen

I hate how people act as if The Amazing Spider-Man doesn't exist. Just because it's the least popular doesn't mean it's completely flawed
... Spectacular is one of the only media adaptations that made me care about Peter’s supporting cast... I actually wanted to know what was going on in someone like Liz Allan’s life.
Excellent point.
What's funny is I was. Just watching Spectacular Spider-Man
How what streaming service is it on???

What are you talking about, he talked normal? He didn't have an accent?
@@topsecret770of course he “talks normal” everyone who knows how to talk does. I’m saying he actually sounds like he’s from queens. Duh

The Spectacular Spiderman is a animated adaptation done right. It followed the roots of the Lee, Ditko and Romita years and added a few modern bits to it like adding Venom. To me this is the last great Spidey series before what is to come by Disney.
Spectacular as a teenager, Raimi during College, and PS4 as past college are the best Spider-Man adaptations
@@keneajogwu312 Raimi is better imo
Hell yeah it is, it and Spider-Man PS4 are the two best and most faithful Spiderman interpetations that you'll ever find outside the books. Also Josh Keaton is the other voice I hear when I read Spider-Man comics his work as the character is simply outstanding!
It recently got added to Netflix in Canada. Can't wait to binge the series over Christmas break.
Same in England
Spectacular Spiderman is my Spiderman and no one can take that away from me
Personally, I prefer Spider-Man to work alone. So I’m not too worried about him leaving the MCU.
Yeah I heard some people say they want appearances of other heroes which I would’ve liked but I think it would ruin the show
To be fair he’s gonna work alone after FFH
I think the saying that defines Spider-Man for me is this part of his theme song. “Wealth and fame, he’s ignored, action is his reward.”
I feel old watching you talk about watching this show when you were a kid since I watched the older animated series when I was a kid. And I'm only 20
I like how in the Spectacular series that when Peter has the black suit. The suit over time starts to change as Peter Parker becomes more and more aggressive and angry
Spectacular is definitely something I want back. I hope Disney and Sony can work out some deal for them to put new episodes on Disney Plus.
I can't believe Sony and Disney had to shut down The Spectacular Spiderman and replaced it with two very dull cartoons. But years later, they did it again with the MCU's.
Spectacular Spider-Man is deffently the best Spider-Man Of them all and I love his character ark and my favorite episodes are the ones with the Symbiote
I really would like to see u go into more details about the Villians of this show because I think they were the best park

In comic book series: The amazing spider man/ The Spectacular Spider Man
As its says, it's an Spectacular show. Such a shame it only lasted 26 episodes.
Absolutely love this show... Too bad it didn't last long though.
Every time I pull out the DVD, I have to binge watch the entire first season. Such a perfect show.
I remember during the time between homecoming and infinity war I wanted more spidey so I started reading the ultimate Spider-Man which is the best spidey comic book series ever and watching this and WANTING A 3RD SEASON GOD DAMNIT GOD
Best animation of the character other than spiderverse and the 90s
Shout out to the new animated series
I know this is an old video but I got to meet Josh Keaton. He’s really nice and he’s definitely my favorite Spider-Man, this is my favorite show of all time and I would absolutely love to see more of him.
Commenting on what you said at the beginning, batman and spiderman were what got me into their respective universes
spec spidey can come in spiderverse 2 cause sony still owns rights to spec spidey so they can still put spec spidey in movies since sony makes movies like spiderverse and spiderverse would be a good way to introduce spec spidey to movies by being one of the many alt universe spideys in a spidey cinematic universe (spiderverse movies).
14:45 “dude you want some Aloe Vera for that burn”-Randy Robinson. I always loved that line from Spectacular Spider-Man XD
Just a friendly reminder that Spectacular Spider-man was originally supposed to be canon with Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heros...
Until it wasn't.
Josh keaton is amazing at voicing characters
its got everything you want.Except for a conclusion apparently
This show is not great not even good
IT IS *P E R F E C T*
Josh Keaton is Spider-Man.
Kevin Conroy is Batman.
Truer words have never been spoken
Margot robbie is harley Quinn
My favorite piece of spidey tv media! I’m asking for the whole series on dvd for Christmas cause it was sooo good 😂
The one thing that kinda didn't feel right was when Parker took pics of his fight with the Lizard after to his friends it seemed he just ditched the effort to make the cure, it just didn't feel like a very Spiderman thing to do
Best Cinematic Spiderman: Toby Maguire
Best teenage Spidey: Spectacular Spiderman
Best Adult Spiderman: Spiderman PS4

@@alanmooreisrasputinreincar8106 nah,tom is a solid actor but the mcu Spiderman writing and the entire story shtic.

I think JK Simmons is JJJ and Josh Keaton is Spider-Man and I want to see them in a Spider-Man project.
Peak Spider-Man will only ever be seen in the comics. You just can't compete with 6 decades worth of stories and history to choose from with an ongoing character.
ok purist
@@randomdoug6130 LOL, I enjoy adaptations as well but I've never seen an adaptation that beats the canon lore. It's way too complicated and in depth and vast to ever be replicated elsewhere properly.
@@XwoooahX into the spider verse with miles character didn't?
i dont think there ever was a definitive version since the comics had been changing constantly since the 60's.
@@ufg1510 616 has been a single ongoing narrative, so it's all the same "version" as its literally the same character and continuity over 12 years of his life so far that has continued since 1962 until now
@@XwoooahX yeah, but i mean that they change the writing in that series for decades making peter act alot diferent every time, but i think that with ''definitive'' it should represent what spider man is about, not about telling the exact same story from the comics.
I personally think the 90s show is the best version of Spider-Man in anything, but I love SpecSpidey.
Peter Gwen and Harry- a trio of best friends consisting of the main character, his best friend who is a red head, and less intelligent, a super intelligent female friend who is more of a sibling to the main character, and more of a love interest for the red head side friend- sound familiar? (Harry Potter)
Marvel's Spider-Man (PS4) and Spectacular Spider-Man are the best who really get Peter/Spider-Man right.
I think a Spider-Man show with Bruce Timm or a Venom show would be awesome
This is a very uncommon opinion, but I think Justice League Unlimited and the Batman are the best Batman interpretations
I love the batman! Loved seeing his cape over his shoulders
Justice league unlimited is apart of the DCAU which is usually considered to have the best Batman besides the ultra famous comics runs obviously.
luckysix I know but I feel like the version from Jlu is a little different in terms of character
This is literally the most popular opinion .

Me:YES!
So what happened to this show is that Disney and Sony made a deal that gave Sony more flexibility in their film rights for Spider-Man while sending (some of) the TV rights back to Disney. However, the reason it did not continue is because Disney got the rights to make new animated Spider-Man shows, but not the rights to Spectacular or The New Animated Series, both of which still belong to Sony (which is also why neither of those are on Disney+, despite all the other Spider-Man shows being there). My hope is they’ll use the Spider-Verse franchise to cap off the many, many unfinished Spider-Man stories. It’s crazy the amount of cliffhangers we’ve gotten for Spider-Man, but the Spider-Verse can finish them all.
The best Spider man show. I hope someone on youtube tries to continue it. It's funny how this show has the less episodes of any other Spider man show but It's still the best Spider-Man show
In a perfect world homecoming would’ve been based on this episode, but instead we got Ironman jr

Glad he's out of the MCU
@@TheSokkemimi Yeah now it has no reason to continue

I love to see a Spidey vs Sinister Six animated film. In animated format, there are no restrictions.
I hope Tom evolve in a way that he become as Spectacular as this Spider-Man

I hope the MCU Spider-Man incorporates some of the show's storylines.
I would love it
Especially Harry Osborn getting addicted to the goblin serum. It would be really interesting
Since Disney doesn’t have anything to do with Spiderman anymore can they bring this show back.? This definitely one of my top 5 spideys ever.!!
This Spider-Man is the closest Spider-Man to the comics......so, this Spider-Man is one of my favorite superheroes and Spider-Mans!
If only this was actually on streaming services like 80's, 90's, Unlimited, Ultimate, and Marvel's cartoons
Sadly it can’t be because 80s was produced by marvel 90s was produced by fox I think unlimited was fox and ultimate and the new one are Disney non produced by sony
Spiderman Ps4 and Spectacular are the definitive adaptations
That upside-down mirrored Symbiote scene was adapted to the Raimi film directly from the 90's Spider-Man Animated series. That's my favorite series. You should check it out.
I love Bruce Timm's design of Spiderman
God I miss this show so much
I think 90s Spider-man animated series better but spectacular is great
90's show hasn't aged well.
