  • Atlanta (2024) is the largest city and the capital of Georgia in the United States of America (USA). Atlanta has a population of 500,000 and 5,6 million in its metropolitan area. The city of Atlanta is an important hub for travel destinations between Europe and the USA. Atlanta is also an important economic center. It's the 10th largest economy of the United States.

Atlanta is still one of the best looking cities in the United States. It's no city in the west coast or Midwest that looks this good other than Chicago.

Some of the best shots I've seen. That flyover at 10:10 is amazing. You should come back and do it again. This footage looks like it was 2016-17. They've added a lot of infill development in midtown. 30 story buildings n such as well as up peachtree to buckhead and downtown too actually.

The view is great, but many out of state & tourists don't realize Atlanta has about 3 seperate skylines one in Downtown, Midtown & Buckhead & steady growing. It could be much better just like anywhere else & Atlanta definitely has the funds and so much potential.. I'd be nice to see atleast 14 more big ones built yes 14 each being about 800ft-1,700ft or taller & 12 more med sized ones 300-700ft to fill in the gaps between Downtown/Midtown & the large gap from Midtown up to Buckhead has no big buildings. Also over on the west side north of the Benz stadium where it's just lacking buildings could use some *(hopefully Centennial yards go as planned).* Atlanta would then officially be a top 3 city in the US *(going off tallest US buildings & looks)*

SIROB I UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE SAYING. ALSO I WANT TO ADD;IF ATLANTA HAD STARTED 50 YEARS AGO PUTTING AS MUCH TIME AND MONEY INTO IT'S LACKLUSTER NEIGHBORHOODS AS IT HAS INTO DOWNTOWN,MIDTOWN,AND BUCKHEAD IT WOULD BE A MUCH MORE BALANCED BUILT ENVIRONMENT IMO. THOSE 3 AREAS ARE NICELY DEVELOPED AND MAKES THE POORLY DEVELOPED INNER CITY NEIGHBORHOODS,WHICH PALE IN COMPARISON,STAND OUT AS INCONGRUOUS TO THE SKYLINE! OUTSIDE OF THOSE 3 AREAS FOR THE MOST PART; ARE SO LOW DENSITY....IT'S LIKE 2 DIFFERENT CITIES! OUTSIDE OF THOSE 3 AREAS IS LIKE ANYWHERE U.S.A.!! NOW I KNOW ATL HAS A FEW GREAT AND DECENT NEIGHBORHOODS;BUT FOR THE MOST PART THEY ARE LACKING.I'VE NEVER SEEN A MAJOR CITY WITH SO MANY AREAS SO CLOSE TO DOWNTOWN WITH NO SIDE WALKS!! FOLKS,A LOT OF ATL BORDERS ON COUNTRY! STREETS LIKE: JOE BOONE,JONESBORO,CONSTITUTION,CAMBELLTON,MLK,CLEVELAND,ETC....JUST TO NAME A FEW. I KNOW....A LOT OF ATLANTANS LIKE IT LIKE THAT.BUT IMO,IF YOU FIX THAT YOU'LL BE MUCH IMPROVED!! I'M JUST BEIN' OBJECTIVE...NO OFFENSE.

Not about "Atlanta", more about America especially 50 years ago. There was a certain president who basically stopped funding cities and states. Atlanta was barely relevant 50 years ago, was barely out of Jim Crow, and was destined to be a typical sunbelt car oriented city with heavy racial segregation due to the effects of redlining. It's ridiculous to say what a southern city on edge should have and could have done in the 70s! Considering Atlanta's history, its neighborhoods are awesome and I'd honestly want to maybe put more density in some areas (like how the beltline is now) while preserving as much of the tree canopy as possible. Maintaining and then recovering (for a while, Atlanta lost a lot of its canopy and activism helped it come back) the tree canopy is one of the things that makes Atlanta unique. Others who love America's older cities don't value that, but I certainly do. And even with the low density, Atlanta comes in like number 4 behind Miami in terms of how many towers are concentrated between downtown and midtown. I say continue to develop within those areas, try to densify the surrounding neighborhoods in a way that maintains their character, relative affordability, tree canopy, and access a miracle that will enhance public transport along gentrifying areas of the beltline.
The fact is that Atlanta is beating expectations and over performing considering its racial history, the time in which it began to grow rapidly, and the fact that it has had black "leadership"(okay, more like some sort of overseeing) over the past 50 years. Most places that had anything close to 50 years of black leadership have completely lost momentum. Also, I have to be honest. I do not want Atlanta becoming the next San Francisco or even Seattle. What you proposed would completely transform Atlanta's cultural character because it would no doubt displace almost all of the black folks in the city (which is basically the SF and LA story). Atlanta has enjoyed a lot of growth of its economy and physical plant while remaining relatively affordable and having a solidly high quality of life at those lower costs. Development is more than about these abstract concepts of density and how a city looks from an aerial view and is very much about PEOPLE. Do not forget that and in terms of that, despite all of ATL's problems, it has a unique story to tell in terms of how it maintains growth, reinvents its economy, and retains certain demographics who are not positioned to even survive (and certainly not thrive) in other cities or even metropolitan areas for that matter.

@PolychronisDrone Atlanta hardly has travel from Europe. Its a major destination in the southern region of the US. The city itself has the least amount of walkable neighborhoods and the most amount of open space and knocked down historic buildings in the US.. Atlanta's city pop is so low compared to its sprawling size that its 38th most populous city in the United States according to the 2020 U.S. census. Atlanta lacks diversity as being the least destined Big city to be an immigrant hub. The city doesn't have a China town or little Italy and downtown which is walkable becomes dead by 6:30 pm. So if you want to walk and wine and dine after hours, then you have to drive half an hour at least to Buckhead park your car and walk along open space and parking lots until you find your restaurant and bar. No foreign languages other than Mexican Spanish is spoken in Atlanta until you go to the suburbs and find a Korean community. That’s all folks. Long way to go .

Atlanta is Atlanta. And it's not trying to be like other cities. The natives love their city, but the city government is selling it out with many people moving from all over, which its losing its hospitality that it's known for. If you ever meet a native born and raised they will tell you it's different and the city has changed.

@@burdrchitect1680 Well That Good that a lot of people are moving there. finally Atlanta will have some diversity. when was there 6 years ago either you were white or black very cut n dry i didn't really meet any other immigrant's of cultures until i got to the East suburbs and went in to Assi Supermarket. Atlanta has to be a City which it use to be, not a parking lot arena like Dallas and Houston. Till this day Atlanta doesn't have a china town or little Italy or Greek town and there really aren't any good restaurants Downton let alone places that stay open past 9..SMH

@@sirob1193 Why does Atlanta need to have a China town, Greek town, etc. That sounds like segregation to me. It's already some what of a divide in Atlanta. I think Metro has a nice amount of diversity. But most like you say like in the suburbs( cheaper) and work in the city. Atlanta is growing. So much construction going on but its majority rentals. Rentals don't really create a solid community imo due to people constantly moving in ans out. Also the transit system isn't supported by state which needs to change. Anyway, Atlanta is getting there. Atlanta needs to take care of its own before it takes care of others, jmo. And they are doing a horrible job at it.

@@burdrchitect1680 Because That is what a major city has. American city has to be a major destination. That's what a big city is. These ethnics neighborhoods are the backbone of Americas urban history.
