Hey guys caught plenty of Spanish Mackerel recently trawling the DTX180 out on the Swains Reef. Almost half of the fish I caught were foul hooked with the treble hooks. Is this common? Makes things pretty interesting. Would you recommend switching to a single hook setup? 🎣

That's interesting! I wouldn't say that is a common occurrence. You can definitely switch out to singles, or keep treble on the belly and run a single at the back

Please add a larger dtx to the product offering, 250-270 range - will probably need to have a segmented body to run 15-18 knots. Or perhaps recreate an actual fish body with stainless steel backbone with hook connections, with a flexible rubber body that can be swapped out once it gets too damaged by the toothy critters

What’s the recommended way to rig the DTX-180 I tried cable and wire but jumps out the water at 12-15 knots. Whats the recommended distance to troll them at, maybe I ran mine too short but I’d appreciate some feedback please.🇧🇸🇧🇸🇧🇸

Hey mate on the Madscad you had a single hook at the front and treble at the rear and said it was the best configuration for higher speed. Can the same be done with this lure or are the 2 trebles the ideal configuration.

Sorry Matt, wrong comment I replied to! Yes you can run a single/treble combo on the DTXs, or 2 singles if you prefer.

Can you tie heavy mono right to it or do you got to crimp it

Sure can. Keep your knots neat and don't go too heavy on the leader. Around 200lb is probably as heavy as you want to go.

The DTX 120 is designed for slower speeds 1-6 knots. Check out the spec table at the link below for a guide on trolling speeds.

Hey - What do you mean by triple size?

I'm hesitant to buy any more DTX minnows. After catching one or two fish they don't run straight anymore. They run crooked and fly out of the water. I checked the eyelets are straight and hardware is all good. I've had multiple DTX do this to me. It sucks but these don't perform after a few strikes.
