I did find Tommy Shaw on one person's top 250 at about 248. In my opinion, Shaw and Young both can play circles around most of the players I see in these lists (I also think Young is slightly better than Shaw, as he generally played the harder technical solos, althought Shaw can certainly shred as well). So yes, most definitely they are underrated.
Don Felder is one of the best players to come out of the seventies. He took the Eagles to the next level, whether Henley or Frey would admit to it or not.
Felder replaced Bernie, who did want to let go of the country music sound. Yes he was mistreated but he was a hired gun. Henley and Frey owned the most equity in the group and rightly did not want to share

I'm 59 yrs old and have been drumming since I was 13.....saw him with Styx Years ago at a local festival....He absolutely blew me away.. Even Tommy Shaw kept looking back at him several times and shaking his head in disbelief....It was a smaller crowd and sometimes you do things you don't normally do in a large concert setting....they play much looser and had a seriously fun time and it showed...Randy Bachman had just played before them and it was the same for him.....
Top notch drummer, I have been a drummer since I was about 8 and yes, I can confirm, the guy is amazing. I saw him live once and could not stop watching him play.
In memory of my beautiful, fabulous, spectacular mom......I miss you with all my heart and soul. You camped out with me to make sure I had the best seat in the house. I was always in the front row and at all the shows because of her. Tommy is coming here in December and so is my mother’s birthday that month. I hope you can hear him singing that night......💔
