So, I read a comment about the channel getting paid for CCM promotion and Bauer are just as good etc, so let me share my current experience over the last few months. Been skating in Bauer One100s for 12 years and prior to that, Vapors. They are broken down badly so decided to get new skates. Initially I got my feet scanned and bought Hyperlites. They felt comfortable enough in the shop. I tried on FT4 Pro and they were comfier but they didn't have my size or it would have been a 50/50. First skate in the Hyperlite and I hated them, mainly due to the tongue. After back and forward with Bauer, I managed to get them to sell me a felt tongue. It drastically improved the skate but the tongue was too thick for my liking so I decided to sell them. I then bought Bauer X5 Pro. The fit was very similar to the Hyperlite as you would expect, however the standard tongue also felt a little uncomfortable and thick. The toe box also felt shallow. I sold these without even skating on them. Why you ask? Well first I wanted to be able to return for full value. Secondly I had watched the other FT6 Pro videos and I believe what the channel is saying as the FT4 Pro is the comfiest skate I had ever put on, so if this is an improvement then I am impressed. I am getting fitted with the CCM scanner next week for a pair of FT6 Pro. Haven't skated in CCM for about 25 years and I am nervous to switch. I think a lot of people look at the NHL and see majority in Bauer, however any issues a pro has with a Bauer skate, Bauer will just customise it for them. Unfortunately we do not have this option. Hopefully this helps some people.
I just bought the FT6 (not the pro) I am blown away, the inside ankle is off set enough that my ankle isn't hitting the eyelets. That has happened in every other pair of skates I've had. I don't skate enough to justify custom. These are very comfortable and supportive.
Bless you for posting this comment. I am having this exact issue with my Hyperlite 2s. No matter what I do, my inner ankles are killing me. This is the problem I'm trying to fix by looking into Jetspeeds.
I tried on the regular 6 and the tongue was giving me really bad lace bite, but I love the 6 pro no pressing against with tongue they’re like pillows on you’re feet without baking them, but once I bake them they will be a game changer. Already ordered them can’t wait for this boot.
Ok, so I'm researching these for my son, and I noticed Tommy repping a Flyers hat. We bleed orange and black around here, so my enjoyment of the channel has somehow increased more (I didn't think it was possible).
Aesthetically speaking, I think this is the sickest pair of skates I’ve ever seen. I’m only on the ice once a week, but I might have to make an impractical purchase with these.
Ive got flat feet, my research said Bauer Supreme fit 3. Lots of pain still. Got fitted for Custom True's. My heel and ankle are large but narrow foot, so the custom was best. 10 day turnaround time. I dont even need a insole they are so comfortable. Haven't switched out runners yet.
I guess you guys have a different version of that skate than what we have in North America. The upper on mine does NOT have that 'carbon fiber' appearance.
@@signin4079 I wouldn't want mine any stiffer, but regardless, I find it very strange that they would sell a different version in a different market. Why?
Right Chris, I done it. Due to the videos on the FT6 Pro I've just been into my LHS and ordered custom plus. Not skated on CCM in like 25 years but excited to get these.
Always enjoy watching your reviews, however this one was particularly helpful as I am looking for a new pair of skates and trying to decide between the ASV Pros and the FT6 Pros. Insight into the comfort really pushed me towards the FT6 Pros and I picked up a pair today. One question, the finish on the FT6 Pros in your video show a composite finish, however the ones I purchased in Canada are more of a plastic finish. I know you mentioned the stiffness to vary between Europe and North America, but was there other differences? End of the day it didn't impact my reasoning to purchase them, but was curious. I did look at the FT6 as well and the boot was solid and I would have gone for it if it wasn't for the toe cap which felt more in-line with tapered fit of the FT6 Pros and was just not as comfortable.
Nice! Great to see all the praise on these skates. I ordered my pair of Total Custom + on the very first day. Still waiting, but can’t wait to get these in. Great video, as always!
Does tommy like his true svh’s more than the ft6 pros? I really like the way jetspeeds skate, but you can’t beat true svh on fit. Do the trues skate like jetspeeds, or is it a completely different feel? I.e sumpremes feel more neutral compared to vapors.
I'm guessing they were the prototypes or first run. I looked at ordering a pair from EU and they were the same as the ones I ended up picking in Canada. Might be the superskin on top to protect the finish.
Lads, what about baking? As I know new instruction says that temperature should be 220F. Old ccm stoves have 195F (as I know) Is there new stoves which can bake with temp 220F?
Wich stick is the best performing stick between the SYNC and Jetspeed ft6? I own an SYNC and thinking about gettting a ft6, since my 2nd stick snapped.
This is not "built from the ground up", as you say. This is just the 100k Ribcor with a higher stiffness index. The "new" AS-V line is also a Ribcor, with an even higher stiffness index. TL;DR - CCM now offers one skate, with three different levels of stiffness, and three different names.
Are you guys sponsored by CCM? Sure seems like it. . Currently on an old pair of GRAF, I'm looking for new skates now and I can tell you that CCM never fit me 20+ years ago and they still don't fit. I've never wanted to change skates, so have always repaired my GRAF's, but unfortunately it's time. BTW, for the record, 67% of the NHL wears Bauer.
Sure, but NHL players have full custom which ordinary players can’t get. So what they wear is irrelevant. I had Bauer customs. It was only after five years when I bought True TF9, that I realised how bad the Bauers were. My edge work has skyrocketed because the True’s fit me properly. Drills I couldn’t do after years of practice, I can now do after a few weeks practice in the Trues. Skates have to fit, that is key. I’m told CCM are much more mouldable than Bauer. True definitely are.
i feel like it would be a more honest and unbiased review if you just say the names of other compagnies or model that you are comparing/refering it to. Scared to disapoint a compagny to give an honest review? By being straight up, it makes your review more legit. Also the compagnies should listen to something they might have missed during the conception of the product. It would just help the game grow. Love the reviews but be straight even tough you probably getting this stuff for free and dont want to offend. Keep it up
I had the ft6 pro on one foot and the hyperlite 2 on the other, stood up for 15 mins in the shop to feel if one would give some discomfort. The FT6 pro did on my heel for after 10 mins...Wanted to buy CCM but did end up buying Bauer. the ft6 pro is so bulby on my foot, too much padding on the top reducing the ankle support. Skated this morning for the first time with the hyperlite 2, so much support and no pain! No brainer to be honest!
@@allanobrien91yeah, it's a rather unconventional move by CCM, but according to numerous statements by Chris from Hockey Tutorial (i.e. this channel), this is coming directly from CCM.
@@fencesitter2300 Except for when the Hyperlites came out and he moved everything over to Bauer. Can't remember the videos but I have seen videos on the channel with him running full Bauer kit.

Any idea if the skate tongues used in FT6 pro skates can be purchased separately in near future? 🤔
Can you do a ft6 pro stick vs the Bauer sync review because the hockey season is coming up and I want to buy which one better for the buck

You have to heat mould the CCMs, they mould a lot apparently.

As mentioned previously, the CCM FT6 Pro skates comes with a stiffness index of 215 in Europe vs. 195 in North America.
