I'm a bit of a leather hobbyist. I've made a several guitar straps for myself and also some wristbands. Mostly because I didn't want to pay $300-$400 dollars for a handcrafted strap from California. What I have learned is that it isn't necessarily the materials that is expensive, but the time and labor involved. Especially if you do some tooling/carving. This is a fantastic video, thanks for sharing your experience!

I know that this may be an odd question, but I located watch faces on goodwill auction for a good deal. but after you attached them to the band. What do you do when the watch battery need to be changed? Question a customer asked but I had not been confronted with that question. I think I know the answer but I am asking The King of Leather.

Aurthur- GREAT video!! I purchased some tools from Tandy today and am going to start to make watch bands. What type of leather is that? For the Veg leather (I'm not even sure what that means- Veg?) Tandy only sells the entire hide for over $100. Can you recommend a good leather that is affordable, like the one you used in this video. Thank you so much. I am looking forward to watching your other videos.

In relations to measurements I see you have added 2 and a half inches to you're wrist measurement. To take end to end to 9".
If someone's wrist measures 6" would I add 2 and a half inches to 6 or 3" to take to nine.
Is there a certain rule that needs to be followed?
    Thanks
    Rahul

Hi Arthur, I hope you had a great Christmas and a Happy New Year. I have a question, I am still working on my grandsons watch band and I am using vegetable tanned cowhide 6/7 oz for the band because he wanted a steampunk looking band, I was wanting to ask you if 2/3 oz vegetable tanned cowhide would be okay to us for the keepers for the watch itself? I cut the keepers at 7/8" the size between the pins and it fits really well but my concern is, will you be able to get the pins out to change the battery when you have such a good fit, any suggestions would be much appreciated. My daughters bracelet turned out perfect, I will send you pictures in a few days. Thanks so much for your help Arthur. Tammy

Arthur, I was wanting to make my grandson a special watch band and watch for Christmas and, my daughter is wanting a bling-bling bracelet. My question is do you have patterns you sale for your watch bands or can you tell me how to make the style you are showing in the video, it's a white band with turquoise rivets and the square spots. I was wondering how you can keep it symmetrical when you have it wider in the middle and then it narrows down towards the snaps. I just want to keep it symmetrical and do a good job at making this gift for my daughter so any advice you could give me or if you sale patterns would be great. Hope all is well with you and your family. Thanks for your help Arthur

Hello 1goddarddr, Thank you for taking the time to watch our videos, the best way to tighten your snaps, if you are using a hand press to close your snaps, you have to put more pressure on the snaps, if you leather is too thin, make you a leather washer for your snaps.
