I always thought that I hated this band, but then I caught them live a few times, and they knocked it out of the park with their sound and energy. This song specifically. It's rare to find a band that sounds the same live vs recorded, especially nowadays, with all the computer and electronic effects added to music. So kudos to them and kudos to this song.
Why is everyone acting like UABB is the first band to do something like this. It has happened many times before and a lot of people who know the band should know they would do this because it fits with a theme to their music and image. I can't wait for the new album, I'll probably preorder like every uabb album. Everyone should stop complaining. Yeah people go missing, but it's 2014 metal and rock isn't big anymore so how do you think they're going to promote a new album. Release a song on RUclips so barely anyone sees or have all the big metal news sights talking about it so people check them out.
Metal and rock have grown leaps and bounds in popularity over the last 30 or so years. Stupid statement. A band that is actually good will gain fans just by releasing GOOD music and putting on a good performance. The Black Dahlia Murder didn't have to fake a death to get popular. They just release fantastic music and play well live.

I'd have to agree with onesickdrummer the metal industry is over saturated with bands. If you watch interviews bands even say it them selves that's why they pull stunts they need new fans constantly to keep shit rolling another reason why bands start to change their sound to pull different groups of ppl into liking their music

Itd be like making a joke out of people in third world countries that have no income, no clean water, forced into slavery and even worse things.
Tons of metal bands glorify violence on a daily basis on their album covers and their stage shows, and it's looked at as entertainment. Should they have gone about it a different way? Absolutely. Not letting the label know what they planned on doing was a dick move. As for the people not using logical thinking, that's on them. I mean seriously, what sane person picks up their phone to tweet that someone was in their house after just waking up? They drummed up publicity for a now-released single. And it worked. Got me, a new comer, to check it out. Yeah, tragedies happen every day, and it's a fucked up, disgusting world. But what good is art if it doesn't reflect parts of real life?

All of you pissed off about the publicity stunt, I personally find it pretty in line with most of their lyrics. Why the fuck do you people like this band if this stunt makes you so butthurt? A lot of their lyrics are about sacrificing everything for success and not giving a fuck about those who hate on them for it. Sound familiar? Listen to the lyrics "Devils Advocate," "City Hall," or even this song for example.

Windy City Slaughter to be quite honest I feel it was pretty cool. I expected it though. I remember talking to their drummer and he told me new music would be released right before mayhem.
I'm all for publicity stunts, and it's not like I personally was impacted by it, but there are people that know Danny out there and genuinely care about his well being. It just seems like a very cheap way to attract attention. Like, "Hey, our singer is dying of cancer, come out to our next tour because it'll probably be his last." They didn't go that far, but I don't think it is all that different.

I think a whole lot of us are taking this promotion the wrong way.
They probably wanted to show off their new song in a different way. So what I think they wanted to do was report him missing and later post a pic of what looks to be a suicide note, but is actually the songs lyrics giving us all a hint that there will be a new song. If you check their facebook page you can see the picture with the lyrics and on the top right corner it says to UABB. So you all see they just wanted to show case their new song in a unique way.

my opinion:
what I like- the guitar still shreds, and sounds great. the screamer still does that fast screaming shit and its awesome.
what I DONT like- screamer doesnt change pitch at all. theres some added production keyboard shit sometimes. not very often and it isnt very important, but its still there.
