Just the pure thought of the roman empire lasting around 1000 years is crazy. Not even counting the byzantine empire and the reconquer of rome, or the holy roman empire. Even today, most of the western languages are descendants and latin language is still used in medicine.
the western roman empire did not last for 1000 years even if you start counting things like roman law still being in effect and no one actually uses the latin names in common parlance.

The only way it will split is a potential civil war but even I find that unlikely. Regionalist movements have been largely replaced by a united American identity and nationalism means that people generally don't accept not being part of the nation they identity as anymore. At ''''best'''' you're going to have temporary states that mostly seek to unify again, one way or the other, again I find that unlikely too. If a civil war happens - which is a possibility, but not that big of one - it will be along political lines, and it will almost certainly end with a completely reunified US, just with a different political system, whether through one side winning/coming out of nowhere or through compromise.

For a time, but the US took the best parts of all European nations and created the worlds strongest super power. When Britain stalled, the US picked up its slack. If the US ever falls, that's the end of western superiority, replaced by China.
