bifolds fall out if you dont open them the right way? what a load of BS. i've made/assembled these in a factory for years even testing the open/close action and without fitting them into a house they still never 'fall out'. you have to knock the side out for the top rollers to be slid out the side or remove the side 1ft of rail to drop them out the side. you must have some sort of roller meant for a sliding door that only hangs on their and isn't locked in.
If within the so called 10 year garanty something happens, the company will declain failliet and make a restart with an other company....we, customers, know the players and the games now
First the do not fall out of the hinges . Seconf your guide rail is broken and needs replacing next i see no lubrication and your doing the folding incorrevtly even for these old folding doors. You have not maintained them. Over time if you do not look after then clean the rails system and lubricate you will end up with broken rail stiff door panel like on your old system. Plus i need to say people expect thing to last wzy to long these days.
The joint between each shutter must have hair line gape. Such gape allow to pass air and dust. The sliding shutter should be of window type shutter which gives interlock between shutters.

Sigal Smadar this is the UK, we don't really get plagues of flying insects! And if it gets windy, we would just shut them. It's rarely that windy here, a few winter storms maybe, but you wouldn't want them open in winter anyway.
The original door just needs to be maintained. I've put them in many homes and they are great. The new door system will be a pain in the ass just as easy as the first when they aren't taken care of.

The old doors probably just needed to be adjusted. No screen means bugs, birds and animals can enter the house. I would NEVER consider doors like that.

We have used these. Over a period of time, the top rubber gets worn out. Hardly stays for 2 weeks, if you open it daily.

I have bifold door that work perfectly well and far easier to use than the doors, just remember to buy quality not cheap.
They are convenient. I use Dako for my sliding patio doors. I always found Bifolds too tiresome.
