In India we have these type wooden doors for shops from ancient times.
Infact Its very old design
Also the solar panels for the roof, very heavy and very expensive, they put flat in the roof, like you never have to check if every wire is still contected??? And than the whole day the energy company gets your sun energy (for ZERO euro, sells it to other companies) and at night when you need your own energy, you have to BUY it back from the SAME energy company.:-) ...everything is very ancient in the West/Dutch, nobody complains...and everybody is very negative about stuff from India or China, they say its cheap material...:-) they dont understand they are being stuck in ancient time ..:-)

I have a set of aluminium bi folds, thery are very good no problems at all
Just sliding is fine
Both are difficult to use also how often do u use them
The joint between each shutter must have hair line gape.
Such gape allow to pass air and dust.
The sliding shutter should be of window type shutter which gives interlock between shutters.
Do the doors come with electric motors for opening and closing?
Is so troublesome to open and push it one by one... if rain fall suddenly....OMG!!

We have used these. Over a period of time, the top rubber gets worn out. Hardly stays for 2 weeks, if you open it daily.
How would these hold up on a tiny home?

Sigal Smadar this is the UK, we don't really get plagues of flying insects! And if it gets windy, we would just shut them. It's rarely that windy here, a few winter storms maybe, but you wouldn't want them open in winter anyway.
So how do these holdup n keep cold out in winter.
They are convenient. I use Dako for my sliding patio doors. I always found Bifolds too tiresome.

Aesthetically improved but same work load. A new design. Whats d problem in encouraging them for more ?
bifolds fall out if you dont open them the right way? what a load of BS. i've made/assembled these in a factory for years even testing the open/close action and without fitting them into a house they still never 'fall out'. you have to knock the side out for the top rollers to be slid out the side or remove the side 1ft of rail to drop them out the side. you must have some sort of roller meant for a sliding door that only hangs on their and isn't locked in.
More plastic going to the tip when there was nought wrong with the bifolds, other than the fitting.

Both door systems are crap though, been there, done that.
And those vertical blinds do not last except in the show room.
Why not check for clouds first?

Wonderful.
First the do not fall out of the hinges . Seconf your guide rail is broken and needs replacing next i see no lubrication and your doing the folding incorrevtly even for these old folding doors. You have not maintained them.
Over time if you do not look after then clean the rails system and lubricate you will end up with broken rail stiff door panel like on your old system. Plus i need to say people expect thing to last wzy to long these days.
also, am I not mistaken in seeing a dip in the sill with being improperly installed?
I didn’t see much difference between the two types of doors. The original doors maybe have been wood frame which made them a little heavier than what appears to be a vinyl frame on the new doors. Either way someone would pinch the shit out of their hands/fingers.

We've got bifold doors had them since 2015and they are still great.nothing like hers. Think hers were badly fitted or maybe made to look bad

We have four metre bi-fold doors, ours come with a ten year warranty. We've had no problems at all, fantastic things, we would have had the nine metre version if we could have afforded it.

I know of bifolds in commercial applications that are still operating perfectly years later. Talk to your manufacturer or installer.
bunning63 PVC bifolds are garbage. I don’t know an installer that would guarantee one.
Even my kids can do it. They can break it too. I wonder can the kids granny open and close them. What's the warranty on this
It seems like it’s more work (effort) to close the wave doors. A video clip designed to trash the bi fold and promote the wave.
If they “fall out” then surely they would be allowed?
The original door just needs to be maintained. I've put them in many homes and they are great. The new door system will be a pain in the ass just as easy as the first when they aren't taken care of.

I have bifold door that work perfectly well and far easier to use than the doors, just remember to buy quality not cheap.
Bifolds just takes up too much space. Those are nice too but I rather have a big slider. I have a 12ft slider and it's perfect

no offense but if the hinges fall out, they were installed wrong... that's not the fault of the doors. i had these doors for years with no problem... they could be opened with literally one finger. either way, what about screens?
