    Beautiful swb 911. The only thing I would change in that car would be the seats. Those modern Sparco buckets clash a bit with the classic theme of the car. A pair of vintage Scheel buckets would be more appropriate in my honest opinion.

      +Pedro Gomes I absolutely love this car, and totally agree with the Scheels or some old Recaros, as it should be period correct, yet I understand why they use modern race seats nowadays, as much as they ruin the look inside. A minor gripe I spose.. I wanted some old Recaros for my 66 912, yet the prices are ridiculous for original seats now. and I'm selling the car to buy a 78 911, so I may try and find some for that car

      They possibly have to use new seats that have a valid safety certificate for racing. Seats, harnesses and cage all have expiry dates when used for competitive purposes.

    Pre 65? They weren't produced until 1964, that last year for the 356C.

    • @fraserwright9482
      @fraserwright9482 6 лет назад +1

      TheHypnotstCollector the 356C was still in production - Yes. The 901/911 was developed in '59 and was developed in '63, they launched it in the US in '65 once they had sorted out some fundamental issues with the 911. The early cars had a 2000-4000rpm flat spot with the Solex carbs. They had lead weight in the front bumpers to try and cure handling issues which were understeer and lift off over steer coming into or mid corner.

      First 232 built, or 235, depending on who you talk to are 1964 1/2 post-prototype/preproduction. Look up 232 Registry. All are six number VIN, all numbers, no letters, and all that fall under this category all have the first three numbers of the VIN as "300." I'm in the states and briefly owned #300215 briefly in 2003. Last seen in restoration process on CarPac site in California.

      He had several, and he even has an 'h' :) There are some videos of Chris' custom build green air-cooled car, which he sold, and then later he had a GT3 RS or something like that.

    What is a difference between swb and lwb?

    • @xXImOnAPlainXx
      @xXImOnAPlainXx 9 лет назад

      1969 and later cars changed to the long wheel base to take away some of the twitchyness that they were renowned for.

    • @brunonjezic6208
      @brunonjezic6208 9 лет назад

      But is there some visual difference thet I could spot?
      Tank's for replying

    • @xXImOnAPlainXx
      @xXImOnAPlainXx 9 лет назад

      The most obvious difference is that the LWB cars came with flared wheel arches from the factory. Aside from that the differences aren't immediately obvious- I can't really say what they are, though there are plenty of experts out there who can.

    • @brunonjezic6208
      @brunonjezic6208 9 лет назад

      Yeah I tried to find it but I didn't find it acept of suspension blueprints. Tank's

    • @porschecollector727
      @porschecollector727 9 лет назад +6

      The easiest way to tell a difference is by the beam hole cover. If it sits right by the wheel arch, then its a short wheel base car, if there is about 3 inch gap, then its a long wheel base car

    Nice 911, but I went off him and his Take That mates when they were revealed as tax dodgers. He's building a nice car collection while the NHS is going under...

      Consider the weight and handling characteristics.

    • @paulreilly3904

      Really? We are looking at historic cars, which were less powerful obviously. They are still fast, and balance brings big fun. I agree with the other comment. But if 1500 hp GTR's are your thing, then you are in the wrong place.

    • @alexcassinelli6651
      @alexcassinelli6651 2 года назад

      @@paulreilly3904 Understood. I appreciate the heritage and the evolution but by todays standards a Honda Accord is faster. At the end of the day they’re a slow historic footnote. And no, GTR’s in any HP are hideous and boring. Designed for the Xbox bling matters more than substance generation.
