This is so exciting! My hometown is the city where Krispy Kreme was founded but I've been allergic to milk my whole life so I've never had one. All the vegan doughnuts I've seen are all cake-like and not fried. Definitely going to try this recipe.

Oops, I just realised I spelt it “Cream” in my comment. Anyway was going to say, I was so hungry after a long drive and waiting for my daughter to have a wakeboarding lesson. There were only fast food restaurants around. I went to Krispy Kreme to get a coffee and had an amazing avocado bagel. Didn’t know they had them. Do they have them there? I’m in Australia.

I’ve been craving Krispy Kreme!! I watched this last night at 5am and now I’m making them in my kitchen. Except I forgot to get the oil... the dough is rising and the glaze is ready. I’m excited to try them!!!!

this video inspired me to again try out making doughnuts after my first miserable attempt, and using this recipe they were totally amazing!! i hate frying things but it was a breeze. i used the least amount of oil i could get away with, and filled them with homemade strawberry jam and coated in cinnamon sugar instead of the glaze. TRY IT!!

I saved this recipe when it was posted but just now getting around to making it. The plan was to make the dough tonight then fry them in the morning. Yeah...fast forward to 9:30pm and I'm standing here frying 🍩. They are so so yummy!
I also couldn't believe how easy as a novice baker they were to make!
I love how you can see how good it is as he's making it and as they try it, and you can hear how crunchy and airy it turned out towards the end. I'd love a filling/toppings video to go with this classic recipe (maple glaze was always my favorite) as well as "Look At The Thickness

These came out so good!!! I turned the middles into rolls and baked in the oven. with butter, omg it is heavenly!

The recipe looks amazing. I will definitely try them. The one thing that enjoys the bloody hell out of me are the 7 adverts that pop up, 5 of which I can't even skip. I also think those little animations with the bouncing hearts are really not necessary. Gaz by himself, just cooking and smiling into the camera is all it needs. Don't change Gaz, we love you just the way you are.

@@peiqi4576 yes, I find that all the vegan recipes are really healthy, so it's good to be Vegan, but in my case, it's kind of hard, because I already eat just gluten-free meals and products.

Hi Gaz, I've been eating a plant based diet for 3 months now. I find your recipes so creative and, the ones I've tried, delicious. I have a request. When I have stale bread left over, I will normally make french toast or bread and butter pudding, both sweet and cheesy savoury. Can you come up with a substitute or another recipe to use up stale bread. Thanks.

I make these donuts all the time😋 I put homemade coconut whipped cream in the middle with chocolate icing on top. Just slice the donut in half. Delicious 🤤

My gran used cake flour for her doughnuts. They were huge. As a kid, I could never finish a whole one. So she made up the "holes" for us littles. Brings back fond memories to watch this vid.

definitely do a part 2! my favorite bakery (Erin Mckenna’s) does a samoas donut and that would be amazing for you to remake!
I made these as rounds instead of rings and with cinnamon sugar, and they were excellent. Added 100g flour to the base dough plus some vanilla though, as the hydration is a tad high otherwise.
