There is so much jealousy and backstabbing between females (unfortunately it continues to happen always, everywhere) BUT I LOVE the camaraderie between Haolan and the physician - and how they both call each other badass and support each other. :)
honestly the emperor is a bit thick but he seems to be a good person (as much as you can be while ruling a country in a palace with that much backstabbing going on) and i find it kind of endearing how much throughout the series he just *likes* haolan. not like the queen does like a pet but idk.
the king's obsession with young pretty girls who don't even like him is pathetic. he has a beautiful, wise, and responsible wife who loves him with all her heart and even risked her life to help them get the throne. he should appreciate her more.
So, the woman that Haolan got in trouble is her half-sister, who’s married to the prince, who is the Princess’s brother and Queen’s son. Haolan and the prince were briefly engaged but after she disappeared, her sister was married to him instead. He, instead of loving his wife, became obsessed with and later resentful of Haolan for not becoming his concubine. She eventually becomes a servant of the Queen, who, while fond of her, will not lift a finger to help her. She probably sees Haolan more as a pet then as a person, forcing the lady-in-waiting to rely on her wits rather than the Queen’s favor. As for the Princess, she and Haolan came into conflict over Yiren, a hostage prince of another kingdom, and she was the one who arranged for Haolan to be imprisoned for treason. So suspicious, yes. The Princess is clever and gifted, but incredibly selfish, only wanting Yiren for his novelty and because they grew up together. The Queen wants to prevent Haolan from becoming a consort to the king and to keep herself politically solvent by not overly involving herself with the troubles Hoalan tends to stumble into.
you thought correctly. The princess framed Haolan. The Queen knew she was innocent but did nothing. The Princess Consort took the fall (she's guilty for other crimes though not this specific one). The maid burning stuffs, the physician, and Treasurer Lu helped her clear her name
rose 2 She and Yiren have a strong bond, their love for justice and equally vulnerable situation making them well matched. Even if they don’t end up falling madly in love, they could build that relationship into something strong over time. The Princess is spoiled, unwilling to sacrifice for others, and sees Haolan as an unworthy servant. As a Princess she does feel constrained by her position, and can be sympathetic, but her destiny is to marry for the good of her kingdom. Unfortunately, there are three other suitors Haolan’s life: the prince who abandoned her, his father the king who has always favored Hoalan, and the shrewd businessman Lu Buwei.
Kistan12 I used to not like watching Asian shows because I thought everyone looked alike (sometimes I couldn’t even recognize the protagonist from the antagonist) but I kept on watching them anyway, now I’m done watching a lot of Chinese series and I can say everyone has their own traits.
It's a psychological issue called the foreigner effect. You're brain isn't trained to pick up the characteristics of a face from a strange ethnicity to distinguish between them as for a lack of experience. With more exposure you'll come to realize their faces are indeed very different. It happens a lot with westerners and Asians, or Indians and more, either direction.

well she's the main character so a lot of powerful and/or smart people from the opposite gender have a ridiculous crush on her for no reason
Bruh, king still want her, queen wont let her go 😂😂
I love the look the Queen gives her King like "Down boi" and he submits without complaint 🤣
The Queen didn’t want to kill her lol

I am so glad the three of them are working together again. The Empress was my all time favorite so seeing them together is ❤ 💕 💗 💓

DAANGGG thats extra crazy
These titles are hilarious
What is a cart split? I had an idea but would biting her tongue off have stopped the execution? Confused
Chelsea Bun : Attach/tie each limb onto separate carts/horses, then have the horses ride into separate directions, effectively splitting the person.
Biting off her tounge means she would bleed to death ( look at all those veins under your tounge)
Ahhh I love it 🥰
Damnn that's a crazy title!!
I have no idea whats going, Are the bad guys the queen and princess? they seem suspicious..
