My family and I would be the first one to help him to get on his feet. And if she still left child support on there, we would make sure he prepaid every penny ahead of time. I live in PA and know these laws here. He could work around the houses we all have and live for free to save the rest after prepay because we would pay it for him. You're correct, child support is not a responsibility directly toward the child. However, it is an indirect financial responsibility for the child and mother to assist with the continued way of living. Child support was established to prevent the government and taxpayers (me) from taking care of children when a parent, in this case the man decided he doesn't want to be married. Giving your scenario, if she were decreased others would have to be financial responsible (family members, taxpayers). If child support did not exist it would pose determential financial deress for the boys and the traditional unemployed wife, just because he decided he didn't want to be married. He should have not had kids, with his wife if he was going to leave the family. Now he has and should pay. Child support should not affect his decision not to see and be with his boys, that's probably his way of retaliating. A mistake that he will regret for the rest of his life.
Mistake your making hun is the fact that I know with my own eyes how men do get screwed by the court business and child support. If you read the entire SOCIAL SECURITY ACT that lays out specifics in Title 4 in it explains it all. When my ex husband and I divorced we both made dang sure courts didn’t implement child support because we agreed on shared 50/50 custody. I had to help my exhusband in the beginning cause he was homeless because his industry in the area went bust. He didn’t wanna see the girls that way. I understood and I did work with him to make sure he landed on his feet. I myself was working 3 jobs. I helped him by letting him sleep and eat and shower while he did watch the girls while I worked. We divorced civil. It took him 2 months to get 2 jobs himself to get on his feet. I didn’t blame him cause his job closed. I didn’t push him. We cared about the girls so much we didn’t have time to think. He still had seen his girls. If I didn’t let him clean up using my home rent free fed him for free and showered and slept for free, he would’ve never seen the girls cause he didn’t feel like a father but I didn’t let that happen. He offered to pay me back but I wouldn’t let him. He tried to change custody to pay child support and I told the judge No and they accepted it on my word. We struggled but we worked it out and our girls grew up to be great because we didn’t let them ever know anything but that we cared about them. I agree with Kevin on this. It’s called mercy. She held one job. Please. Have some grace and mercy

This is going to sting. Child support is not a factor of responsibility towards a child. If she wasn’t alive or she wasn’t someone would still have to take care of the kid(s). It didn’t work so fine, both parents must take responsibility of what he/she made together or separately.

The thing that many men don’t know is that if the court goes on your previous high income on child support, get a low paying job then get your child support modified. At that point get you a higher paying job with keeping that new modification. Lamins terms- after your divorce you paying 1300 a month find a temp job pay min wage and go to court to get it modified and now you paying 300 a month, go get you a high paying job at that point. The key is keep that from your Ex. Kevin was good but that’s the solution for men. Threw y’all a gem

Had a good job and quit his job because he thought my mother was going to put him child support because he got an under age girl pregnant. I know you'd probably think my mother filled my head with this. I searched for him and found him at the age of 38 and HE told me that he quit his job because my mother was about to ruin him. I got silent because I don't think he was thinking or remember who he was talking to. In fact, if it was up to him, I was suppose to be aborted. My grandfather forced my existence which is why I'm named after Grand pa. He punished my mom by not allowing her to get the abortion of her first child and his first grandson being that she liked going out and partying.
