Good technique, I do wonder if you are planning on using this technique do you use an undercoat of cream or white? Layering your fur or hair colors on top of the lighter base? Reversing for darker scratch out marks? I have found that if I use cold pressed paper, it rips so Hot pressed paper is a must! What is your favorite paper?
Does the paper you use have an effect of how the knife affects the drawing ? It’s not working very well for me and I don’t know if it’s because of the blade or the paper
Hi Amy. This is the most informative video I´ve found. Thank you. How did you do the whiskers? Are they etched beforehand, or do you use the slice tool for that too?
I haven't tried it specifically with graphite so I can't advise there. However, I imagine that if you had a way white base under graphite, it would work the same
Hi Amie regarding the highlights you are making in this video :) have you applied Cest it before this process or do you use it after that process if at all ?
Hi Amie, does this work well with the polychromos? I tried it with my set but either nothing happened or I scratched the paper. It worked a little better with my one Caran D'ache I have but I can't justify the money of a whole set for this technique. Is it possible to get it to work just with my polychromos? Thanks.
I keeping have trouble with damaging the paper. No matter what kinda pressure or angle i choose. I can´t really make those lines with a high succsess rate. Can you recommand a certain kind of paper this would work best on. And is this knife of yours better for this instead of the proper metal knife i use? I m currently working on a piece using the paper "Hahnemühle 90"
@@AnotherMADCreation Nah it is pretty Thicc. The type of paper must be wrong. It rips too easy. I testet a few. I m sitting on a nice pile of expansive papers and non seem to work for me.
This lion is gorgeous! I have tried this technique and it doesn't work for me...have tried and I am gonna try AGAIN..lol. Your work always gets me into my art. Thanks Amie! 💗

What colored pencils did you use?
Thank you for your review, just bought a slice tool and want to try soon. 😁
Hi Amie did you use the slice on his eyebrow hairs as well. They really stand out. Helpful video thank you.👏
Wow. That’s a nice texture. May I know what kind of craft knife or pen you are using?appreciate a response. Thank you.
Thank you :) This is a SLiCE craft blade which is ceramic and really good at lifting compared to a steel craft blade.

Yes they are! I used an embossing tool for that :)
@@Amiehowardart Fantastic. Thanks.
Does the knife work with regular black sketch pencil or is it just for colored pencils?
