I was using a ps portal to stream ps5 but it was pretty unimpressed… because my iphone was a much better option, but after i got the steam deck and set up that chiaki on it… it was a game changer for sure. The screen has a slightly lower resolution but the image was still better because its an oled and also uses hdr while streaming ps5. Match that with wifi6, any Bluetooth headset (cant do that on the portal) and find a really good controller layout and BOOM… you have the best ps5 streaming device. Im even able to use the haptic touch pad for all the ps controller touch pad inputs. It even imitates the haptic feedback from the ps5 controller. Its really cool honestly
@@junkdnareviews2515 when you get the app on the steam deck, just go to the controller options on the app. Youll see a BUNCH of options, with alot of them having the touchpads acting like the dualsense touchpad. It works exactly the same too surprisingly
I'm out of my house majority time due to work and I use chaiki on the deck all the time using my mobile network. You absolutely need to be hard wired but other than that, it is a smooth experience everytime Also to preserve battery, lower the watt down to like 3 or 4 since all the power is coming from the ps5...not sure if you mentioned this yet as I'm writing this while the video is playing 😅
Super cool to know it works really well outside of the home too, the battery life aspect is a really good selling point for chiaki, like 6 hours on a triple a title is great
I wouldn't have said anything relating to aspect ratio, particularly with the OLED as the blacks are so deep that you wouldn't notice it compared to the LCD. One great thing with the OLED is that 16:9 games are more bearable haha.
i always tell my friends to make sure they have wifi 6 or wifi 6e at home before attempting this. if they don’t even have this, don’t even try. but once you get it done, it literally flawless.
I haven't owned a console in over 10 years at this point. But that is a really cool way to PS5 ngl. I am enjoying whatever, to be honest my favorite content is game discussion. I really don't mind what handheld you're using so hope you're not feeling forced to only do Deck stuff!
I Stream my Xbox, PS 5 , and PC over the G Cloud. In my setup the G Cloud/ Android works best at streaming, easier and more consistent than my steam deck or my ROG Ally.
It depends on the user I guess. I’ve use Chiaki on my OLED Steam Deck and ROG Ally, PSPlay on my Pocket Air Android, MirrorPlay and PS Remote Play on iPhone w/ backbone and my Portal. And the Portal has been the best for me followed by PSPlay on Android. Chiaki for deck was the worst out of all I tried as I would get more white flashes, freezes, etc on it. Portal was the smoothest for me, along with the dual sense controls made it the best way for me. PSPlay was my second fave as it was pretty smooth on most games, but I would get some slight stutter on it with some games. But I love how the top of the touchscreen is the touchpad, and it also helped that my Pocket Air has a 1080p AMOLED screen.
Lol. No. It's not. I have both PSPortal and SD. The Portal has been working flawlessly since last update, even with just wifi5. Battery lasts forever, and the screen is better than the OG Steam Deck LCD by far. Screen size too. Not to mention much lighter, ergonomic and battery that last soooooooooooo much more. Steam Deck has its place. And its not for long PS5 play sessions to burn my hands. Oh yeah, no active cooling on the Portal since it does not produce heat (almost zero).
yea i love my portal for home play to me now its just a dedicated home portal for around the house when the lady needs help around the house ill do one quest set it down help then back to another quest lol but i also wanna get a handheld but might wait for the ally 2 that's been rumored to come out this year.
Brilliant video thanks I'll be downloading this so i can stream my ps5 on my oled deck, great stuff as always mate

Are haptics readily available or do you have to download something else?

@Graves1 Agreed! Keep doing what you're doing, my friend, I learned a lot of this information through you.

Getting back to it! Glad to see this video pop up!

Thank you - helped me a lot.👍
Interesting overview, even though I don't plan on getting a console, last on was the xbox360. Steam Deck is super versatile .
Can you voice chat via chiaki?
How in the heck when you have to log and it gives you the website link do you copy and paste that website ?
Yeah, I'm having the exact opposite experience. My portal works very well and I can't get Chiaki to work for nuttin!
I agree if I was able to get chiaki to work 🤦🏽♂️
Whats not working?
I'm having trouble with Connecting with the ps5 out of town but when I'm on the same wifi, home it works
You need to set up port forwarding on your router
How do you get it to go back to the home screen that’s my only problem
Map the left touchpad to ps button , right to the touchpad .
Stretching to 16x10 isn't that bad in a lot of titles.
boy o boy
Do I need a ps5 to use this ?
yes or ps4

What’s the g cloud? If that’s a mesh router that’s going to cause issues
@@Zeft64 Logitech g Cloud....It is an Android device Made for streaming and Emulation...

Same, I have Steam Deck and Portal, and Portal is superior. I don't understand this kind of videos.
it works way better on legion go
Do you know if there is a way of playing ps5 instead of streaming ps5?? So I don’t need to have my ps5 on and depend on WiFi
