Once the asset is available on the Gemini platform, you can move it to Cold storage then to your Gemini IRA wallet. I don't think you can move it to a different exchange because of how the money originated as it's a partnership with Gemeni.

Gemini is already regulated and already provides this to you, so it's easier to use their platform. It's not a bad hack. Makes sense if you're not heavily liquid
