@@LVCIVSbcRO the first time you use the filter; you put water in it and plug it in, just like any filter. If your power goes out, when the power comes back on it will self prime(there is already water inside the filter). It takes about 3 minutes and it is noisy as it expels the air out of the intake tube.

Not buying it. I have one for 6 months. You will fixe impeller all the time. I am ultimate ns canister filter😊
