I was dusting off my RC-505 and I thought I'd skim RUclips to see if there were some fun ways to use it. Ran across this video and was amazed! Killer playing and groove (even with the cheesy built-in drum loop!), one of the best RC-505 videos I've seen. Love it!
Thank you - and yeah, I've since found a bunch of really cool drum loops that I've loaded into the looper to replace that horrible default one it comes with.
Yes I'm up for a set up like this, thought it was more for guitar but now I see it's good for keys. I'm going to buy one and hook it up to my Yamaha MODX. This Guy plays a good piano....Well done
Great video! Can I ask what are the connections you’ve got going in the back. Have you found any way to connect the piano straight to the looper without going through a mic to get the sound? And how do you record the full audio performance? Is it hooked up to your DAW? Thanks!
Connections are the stereo out from my keyboard into the RC-505, microphone into the RC-505, stereo cables out of the RC-505 to my speakers, and a headphone out. Nothing fancy :) As for the recording, I used to use the "Line 6 Sonic" adapter to record from my RC-505 into an iphone although it hasn't worked since they came up with iOS 13. No DAW involved.
Dude, you are a badass player. Very tasteful....now for the gear question....Is that the nord music stand that attaches to the nord itself? I have an electro and am about to get the 505 and it would be awesome to not have to use an extra stand. Cheers in advance....also, subbed!
All audio cables. Took the L/R (2X1/4") out of the Nord into the audio input of the RC-505 and then the audio out from the RC-505 to my monitors. Nothing fancy.
Absolutely amazing🫠🦦 dude when i m connecting my RC 505 with the Piano 5 then its makes the sound quality bad.. why? I dont find the mistake and already changed the cable.. can you help me?
Make sure you're connecting it in stereo. L/R out of the Nord into the L/R inputs on the RC. From there, make sure your instrument level setting isn't higher than your output level setting.
at minute 1.22 did you select another bass and el piano sequence different ftom the first one, was them pre-recorded? Very good demo! what acoustic piano are you using?
Nope, nothing was pre-recorded... same bass and e-piano that I played in that video in real time is what was still playing at 1:22. Piano is the Nord Stage "White Grand" patch.
@@mweinsteinmusic thank you so much man. Im really debating buying a boss looper, havent got it yet. But i would have a blast coming up with loops, though not quite as impressive as yours. Cheers man
Why only 1,5 minute? Next time when you already jam so good, live us, other players, about 15 minutes to play along. Great stuff. Extremely short but 😃 great.
That opening baseline told me this is going to be good
Thanks brother
Indeed.
haha yes! when you know... you know
My thoughts also
I actually love your arrangement of this song so much, you got any sheets? :)
Wow - so smooth! I was impressed until the piano hit and then blown away. Those riffs!
Thank you so much!
perfect use of a loop station play more please!
omg... this cut at the end is just killing me!

Just popping in here to say this is incredible, well done. May have inspired me to get my own rc505
Groove by the mile. Awesome keys skills! Great looping demo
Thanks - appreciate that!
Absolutely love it. Thanks

Very good brother. I dig the Boss RC as well. I need to get one of those!
Bro, you're just crazy! Sweet as!!
gosebumbs man!
This was amazing!!!
Nice work! I am using the RC 505 with piano and vocals. Drum track metronome sounds good. Your video is a great inspiration for me.
Have you figured out how to connect the piano directly to the looper?
Awesome man... proper!

Sehr intuitive:)
I hear tasty "do for love" chords here by 2pac ! I swear, "you try everythiiiing....but you won't get love" 👌🔥
Phenomenal playing! Its so seamless and smooth. How did you learn how to play like this? Is this a type of jazz? really wonderful to listen to.
Thanks! Lots of years of classical training before I ever started learning jazz, which definitely helps :)
Really smooth. Where's the rest?
cool!!!
Damn this was so cool to watch I’m Action. Aspiring performer/pianist here
To much inspirational
Wow.
Amazin

Wow
Is it easy to use the 505? I wanna get one

Thanks brother. And yes, that's the stand meant for the Nord - attaches right to it.
Michael Weinstein Thanks bud, keep it up!
hey buddy could you please explain how you connected the nord and the boss rc 505? how did you get the boss rc 505 to loop the nord?
All audio cables. Took the L/R (2X1/4") out of the Nord into the audio input of the RC-505 and then the audio out from the RC-505 to my monitors. Nothing fancy.
Sooo beautiful ! Did you use your nord as MIDI ? Or it is connected with a jack directly in the RC 505 ?
Using just the Nord, directly connected to the RC-505... no MIDI on this one.
Thank you!
Nice !
Can you explain me how you do your auto rec at the begining please
When you activate the metronome/rythm and then you press the record button, it starts to record automaticaly on the next downbeat
Wow man talent. How is the mixer set up? I want to be able to loop a synth i am not nearly as talented though haha
Thanks! No mixer - just a looper and my keyboard.
what software do you use
Absolutely amazing🫠🦦 dude when i m connecting my RC 505 with the Piano 5 then its makes the sound quality bad.. why? I dont find the mistake and already changed the cable.. can you help me?

Awesome piece, what is the name of the song?
Just the Two of Us
Thanks
you using nord sounds or as controller
Using the Nord Sounds
Could you tell the chords? I love them :)

nice, thank you!🥰@@mweinsteinmusic
this video convinced me to buy Boss :D
Fucking groovy. Am I able to connect my keyboard to a boss looper and amp and loop stuff like this? What else would I be missing ?
That's all you need - just run the keyboard output into the looper and the looper into your amp (and/or headphones).
@@mweinsteinmusic thank you so much man. Im really debating buying a boss looper, havent got it yet. But i would have a blast coming up with loops, though not quite as impressive as yours. Cheers man
The drums come from the roland?
Yes - the Roland loop station has a lot of drum patterns to select from.
@@mweinsteinmusic ok thank you!
Is that drum pattern yours? Or was it built into the 505?
That was actually directly from the 505
Nord is the best
I guess you wonder where i've been
