''And that kid is me'' !!!! You better invite me to the red carpet viewing of that movie because it sounds like a good one! First of all absolutely stellar video! The blast through your past and leading up to Rambo and the obsession was great! Rambo at least in my opinion has to be one of if not the best collection of action films of all time and the fact that each movie had a different knife that had as much allure as the main hero makes it all the better! The history lesson on Gil was amazing he is a thing of legend in his own right with so many notorious designs considered by many to be the greatest knife designer of all time! Mix that with greatest action movie of all time and you get Rambo! I totally share your excitement about the Rambo 3 prototype knives they are absolutely amazing and would be the "holy grail" to your collection! That Arizona knife is amazing, your collection is amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed this video!

Agree 100% that Gil Hibben is the master, maybe even the god, of knives. The one of his I want the most though is the Kenpo Knife based on the knife he made for Grandmaster Ed Parker. Had a chance to buy one, but the man who had it wanted a grand for it and there's no way I could afford that.

      Yeah that’s a lot of $$ to spend on a blade .
I think the most I ever spent was $450 ??
And I had to make payments ( which was cool - this way it wouldn’t look so bad to my wife , ya know what I mean )???
If I spent 1 K on a knife , I seriously think she would start the divorce proceedings hahaha .
But that would of been amazing to own !!
( Ed Parker is in that photo I showed in the video - Elvis , Gil and Parker ( and one more guy ).
Gil is indeed my hero - my ultimate knife master ( plus he knows some forms of martial arts 🥋).

Hi Cowboy. I've got a little Rambo trivia for you. You remember the stick fight scene in the beginning of Rambo 3. Sly's opponent on that scene is Harold Diamond. Harold, was a world champion full contact fighter who also was my cousin Steve fight instructor down in Miami and Steve, was "our" fight instructor. We had the benefit of having them BOTH as coaches from time to time. Harold and I have kept in touch throughout the years. Harold's a really super guy and say the same about Stallone! As for the pohl heartstopper ...like I said as soon as I saw the Hibben assualt tactical knife I knew there was a connection. BUT at first I thought Gil tried to copy Pohl until I saw the assault was out number of years before Last Blood, then I knew pohl used Gils design. I just posted a quick video yesterday about giving Gil Hibben credit .
Various companies use his name to profit .... and give him zero royalties .
      That’s just so wrong !!
Namely Hollywood Collectable/ Master Cutlery .
I am thinking of starting a petition.
They ( like so many others in the industry) owe Gil Big Time !!
Other than knives - Gil’s life has been tremendous!
      Lots of achievements.
And still continues to do what he enjoys doing .
I just want to shake his hand .

This was a GREAT video!!!! Nice trip down memory lane, u and I had a lot of the same interests, ur a little bit older, about 5 years or so, I was born in 72, and that 5 year difference, may be the reason why u left out Star Wars, lol. And being that ur from Philly, I was surprised to see the Cowboys cheerleaders, on ur wall, I had a very similar one, but I’ve been a Cowboys fan, since I was 5, lol. The first Rambo movie I ever saw, was Rambo First Blood part 2, I was 13, and that knife started my love and appreciation for the Bowie knife, I didn’t begin collecting, until I was an adult. I had a chance, one time, way back in 86 to get the Rambo 2 replica, my dad and I were at a gun and knife show, it was $29.99 I asked my father if I could get it, he was a Marine, fought in Vietnam, he said, if I wanted a knife, he’d get me a “real” knife, and I got a nice new Ka Bar USMC, I still have it, but it wasn’t the knife I wanted, lol. The Rambo 3 knife is my favorite, it began my collection, I now have a big collection, and all the Rambo knives, I didn’t like the Heartstopper, at first, but it has really grown on me, I have the HC and the UC versions, the UC is much closer to the movie, and was less expensive, when I purchased them. I have 3196/5000, on my HC. I really enjoyed ur Beth cover, I was Peter Criss for Halloween, when I was a kid, I’m also a drummer, that’s why I chose Peter. My wife’s name is Beth, she hates that song, but it’s one of my favorites. Man, u keep making these great knife videos, I’ll keep watching! Thanks for ur hard work brother!! All the best, from Tennessee. Peace!!

And finally- I am a SOG 2.0 Bowie fan .
That is absolutely the best looking out of them all .
High quality - just FLAWLESS .

      Yeah .
      I would recommend the 2.0 .
( I’m certain their are better - stronger combat knives out there , but it all depends on what YOU are into ).
The 2.0 comes in a very nice high quality black leather sheath too .
It’s one of those knives , that you are afraid to use because you don’t want to mark up it’s beauty .

But at 18 well my birthday all mine were stolen had a box full of them I was in Alabama had left mich month early left home to work and got hurt ended up on crutches living in my truck for month or 3. Lol. But I quit collecting for whole due to that. Then finally started again and I was 40 I think had over 300 stolen and almost 200 I was selling lost alot. So I don't buy like I used to till Raven got there 10 dollar knife a month for year and 10 then they quit. Wish they went 2 more months. But for 17 with shipping I got some nice knifes. But think it's time to sell and keep my fav and use the money to buy me something nice. Maybe a Rambo or gro. Lol. But sorry said to much again. But loved your video loved the info the knives and now I'm smarter about rambo. Thank you. God bless

Stefan Klaus That is So Freakin Awesome !!!!!!
Ya know , I was doing some New Knife searches yesterday , and I gotta say - I think I’m done ✅.
It’s going to be so hard to try and find a nice big blade , for a fairly decent price , that would be as nice as the “ Plan A “.
Although there are still a few on my wish list that Soooo Many People Already Have - I try to find that “ diamond in the rough “ . Ya know what I mean ?
      A great knife - at a great buy .
I don’t like over rated knives ( the ones that are overly priced just because of their name brand ).
You ever see those knives that are selling for over $300 ??
      Sometimes I wonder .
If I’m going to spend that kind of dough on a knife , it better be something special .
And don’t get me started on those that cost $1200 and more !!
      WOW !!
I saw the Rambo 2 knife ( that was used in the film ), on sale for $35 K !!
( but they make it easy for you if you want the layaway plan -- only $11K down payment ).

It's definitely possible that the inspiration for the Heart Stopper was the Assault but really both of these designs are throw backs to the original Bob Loveless Sub-hilt Big Bear.
They are definitely not as close to the original design as the Cold Steel Black Bear Classic but definitely close.

Cowboy I was just thinking. In Last Blood Rambo is not shown making the MK-8 or MK-9 knife. Actually the MK-8 is shown hanging from the wall next to the part 4 machete before Gabrielle even went to Mexico. The MK-9 is first shown when he is sharpening wood stakes for a booby trap in the preparing for war sequence. So I'm assuming the MK-9 heart stopper like the MK-8 was already made before all this went down. The only knife it showed him making was the letter opener knife for Gabrielle.

Ed Parker is the inventor of the American style of Kenpo Karate as it exists today!!! He was also Elvis Presley's personal instructor. And btw, Ed Parker did not "give" Elvis his black belt. Elvis "earned" it which in American Kenpo, is NO easy task... You sir, have a very RARE picture there indeed!!!

Have to tell you I like Rambo , but can't be that loner. I could grub around there in the dirt for a while, and have, but it ain't where I prefer. I'm an Expendable guy. And if you want to write a new story as Barney, go ahead because, I already have a spot. From day one I am Christmas, and may be bringing you the worst holiday you ever had. The first time I saw Jason I went back to see if I had seen everything in his career and it was worth it.. I also have the official set of Kunai Throwers. After testing them I put them away, they are designed to gut a fish but thrown once too often will break. Having been expendable as are all USA and USMC guys, the one on the left and the one on the right are #1 in your line of vision and nothing else matters. Best Wishes

John Bullen You had me thinking of what character I would most identify with in “ Expendables “.
Probably the Mickey Rourke character in all honesty .
      Few reasons :
He is an emotional wreck ( has some PTSD from his former horrific events that he is having a hard time getting over ), and his love for tattoos , likes to hit on that awesome pipe ( I have the same one ), his fondness for Motorcycles and beautiful women , and of course , his Cold Steel Espada ( one of my favorite blades in my collection).
The Warner weather is slowly approaching us here in Pa , so that will give me some practice time on knife throwing . ( still can’t wait to give the ones you sent me a toss or two - although I like to treasure them as is because they are from you , I don’t want to mark them up ).
But yeah -- The Mickey Rourke character I think I most identify with .
