That blade is is definitely cleaver level of big indeed. D2 is excellent steel when Cooked appropriately. I think the bad rep over some bad China D2 from 10 years ago needs to be erased . My new $20 FLISSA Bushcraft scandi in D2 is not chippy at all so far .....I'm very impressed with the blade . Let's give D2 a chance 😁 If I see failure I will let people know but so far it cuts like $100 + blades.
After the way that you were describing the wildlife, I almost thought that this was going to be followed by a cooking video with this knife on a cameo appearance at the table.
The two Al Mars and now the XXL?!? You been peaking at my search history? This has been a great week for watching knife reviews! Any chance you've been feeling a tomahawk itch too?
Glad you like! I have a few multitools coming up, Roxon sent me their Flex multitool, and I have a MKM Campo 7 from a while back, and I also have the D2 black blade version of the SERE 2020 to review.
Dope ass looking blade brother. Again I don't know the situation because nobody is giving a full disclosure on it like if it is a secret or some shit. Always support your knife guy's. Well I mean some at least most I don't like an they don't like me lmao.
For sure. There is just a very high turnover in the knife reviewers world. 9 out of 10 seem to quit within a year. And people try to close the barn door when the reviewer has already left the barn LOL.
For sure, all the blade shapes have already been explored, so these days companies will just make them extra wide, extra long, or extra thick and boom it's a new knife.
Hm, they call a knife with a 7 inch long blade XXL? Heck the Buck 120 General has a seven inch blade. So I would consider that knife you are showing as Large. Since I have 7 knives that exceed 7 inches. Most are over 9 inches. Its not a bad knife your showing, and the price is okay. But not for me.
@longrider42, There’s more to knife size than edge length or blade length. 15.5oz is a lot of steel. I’ve never even held it, so I can’t comment on anything other than specs and what I see in this review. Hey, if it’s not for you then it’s not for you.
My review of the Off-Grid Knives Caiman XXL Knife. The knife features G10 Scales, 7 Inch Blade, Cryo D2 61 HRC, 4mm Thickness, 15.5 oz, Kydex Sheath, Made in Taiwan. A true beast of a knife. Shop Off-Grid Knives below. Enjoy! :D

So it's around 3/16 thick?
@@joshuahmoran - It's about 0.157 inches.
Now that Ontario Knife has folded, I think I found a replacement for the SP-10 Marine Raider Bowie.
I does look thinner though.
There's a reason he's the only knife reviewer I watch.
Thanks for watching!
What's that
I got the black model. It's such a cool looking knife and reasonable too... I couldn't resist! Great knife AND review too!!!
Great review, only guy to really put it through its paces. Just ordered one.
Excellent, I hope you like it.
Luv this brand, especially the folders. Can't find them anywhere in the UK though 😢.
Hope they start shipping to UK soon!

Very cool knives by Off- Grid. That Bowie looks great 💯👍🏻⚓🇺🇲🇺🇲
Love my XL Caiman Folder from OffGrid knives. I think i need this one to match. Thanks for the demo and review 👊🏼👍🏼👍🏼🇺🇸
Definitely a worthy addition!
My Off Grid Knives VIPER V2 and Badger are tanks with excellent actions. Awesome Knives!!!
Glad to hear! I will check out those models.

They do sell goose at the farmer's market here, but it's tricky to cook a goose :]

Been looking at this knife for a while. Still deciding between it and the station 9 partisan. I need a knife that will stay with my chest rig.
Though less stabby, this one will definitely stay sharp longer.

At $87, that's a bargain. Caiman looks to be a perfect name, given it's profile.
That looks great. Nice find.
Thanks for watching!
Very good Fixed Blade , I luv that Downwards Clip tip . 😊
Glad you like it!
Hell yeah bro I just got one of these myself this week. Sweet blade.
Yeahhhhh I’m gonna need one to match my XL Caiman.
Awesome knife! Bought one black / stonewash.
Yes, I will own one. Thanks for reassuring it! Definitely not Office Gentlemen carry. LoL
Ordering this one and the Sierra.
Excellent. I noticed their Alpha Beast is back in stock now also, it was sold out for a while.

Thanks!
Brothers in blades . 73.00 shipped.
thats awesome bowie
Wicked blade !!
Looks wicked - like it
drag racing geese. cool. nice blade & sheath.
The Final Countdown.
is the "edge" of the clip of consistent thickness to where it would be easy to sharpen it w out a major regrind?
The clip gets wider and then tapers halfway to the tip.
Ooooo might need one, or two.
That's the spirit!
Funny how little it takes to make a blade look a bit more exotic. :)

For the algorithm
Thanks!
Save all your shavings for a fire😊
I do save them in a box when I carve at home, but it's a big box and it's almost full already.
Cool knife but it wasn't the greatest chopper 🤘
Yeah, it's only 7 inches, so it's a chopper of last resort.

I think it's a callback to their folding Caiman, so it's only XXL compared to that.
