I'm norwegian and I moved to Bergen to study 2001 - 2003. Me and my best study buddy would get stoned every weekend and go to see unknown live bands like this for 5 usd entrance fee. Then we'd get hammered inside and rock out to the music. When I meet him once in a while now a days we'll often talk about the incredible quality of the amateur live bands there and then. Actually I feel kind of like an old hippie reminiscing about the music scene in the 60's in SF or something like that.
Never listened to this band before, despite enjoying a lot of Norwegian black metal. 1 minute in and I know that they'll be great. If everything Hoest does is like this, I can safely say that he's the best Norwegian black metal band outside the second wave.
Hoest is creating some of the best black metal these days. It's truly original in a genre that is becoming so polluted and rehashed. It's songs like this that make black metal my favorite genre of music.

Saw them in Rotterdam (holland) a few weeks ago and I actually never heard of them. Now I listen to Taake EVERY FUCKING DAY. Damn how I was impressed...
