Wonder woman’s abilities feel like they would fit right into a game imo. Bracelets that block bullets, a simple magic sword, a laso that can also act as a weapon of interrogation and she could speak to gods that could give her items with specific buffs or abilities.
Ok, cool. But what would make a game about Wonder Woman good to add the nemesis system to? Does she have a rogue's gallery of cool villains like Batman? Where a low level street thug could potentially become an insane supervillain, like Scarecrow or Joker?
I do hope that the combat system will be more complex than the Shadow of Mordor games. I'm hoping for something more akin to God of War or Sekiro rather than the Arkham 'freeflow' style, which in my opinion is too easy and defeats the purpose of the Nemesis system.

I kind of get it though, Batman is by far the easiest character of the three to balance enemies around. Wonder Woman and especially Superman are very powerful so it's harder to make generic low level enemies for them. Wonder Woman at least you can do things like Circe having an army of magical monsters or Ares having a cursed or undead army.
Couldn't agree more. The DC Universe offers a lot more than just Batman. There are so many characters and teams that would make great video games like Green Arrow, Teen Titans, Static Shock, Aquaman and John Constantine.
Wonderwoman is a perfect character for a video game. From powers to abilities, villain gallery for bosses... she is a well made female hero... dragon age, vowed and every other game that has recently come out has me believing they will take all the good and toss it in the trash and it will be another giant fumble by WB. Gaming industry is comboing flops, I don't see the combo breaker anywhere.
I don't understand why you are so attached to the idea that wonder woman will be a reskin of shadow of mordor, because it probably won't be. I think Monolith has always delivered a unique vision for the game, tailored to the world in which it takes place (or vice versa, they created a world to fit the mechanics they came up with), and I don't think they'll take the easy way out this time, especially given that they've been sitting quietly for so many years.
10:02 the concept could be like a demon outbreak in her backstory she’s either a Greek demigod or just made by Greek Mythological characters and they do have daemons in Hades in their lore sssooo all that to say is they could have an outbreak from Hades onto the island that you have to deal with and BOOM you have your orks from Mordor…but that’s just my idea for a Wonder Woman game
I think that Wonder Woman game is being reworked to fit in the DCU as James Gunn wants DC video games to be connected to films and shows going forward. Because of this, I believe that the devs had to rework the story and structure to fit in that universe and they would need an actress who would sign on as WW.

Obviously, given the spelling, it’s a bit more “Ssskira” Themiscyra… but I just wanted to point out it’s not “Themis-sear-ah.” Edit: there are multiple ways to “kill” and revive Diana. If the game takes place on Themiscyra especially, since the Amazonians are made out of enchanted clay, she could be further blessed by Zeus or something so she just turns into clay and reforms. I think this works best ON the island… but really, she’s usually so closely tied to Gods… and there was a recent story where perhaps her “Father” was actually Hades, not Zeus… so maybe she gets a blessing from Hades (the God) to always come back from Hades (the Underworld)… that could work, too. Or, the usual Lazarus Pit stuff. They also recently had a Lazarus Island where basically everyone was supposed to fight to the death and could die 3 times… and Damian Wayne Robin was involved and got his heart literally ripped out by his new girlfriend lol… so they could do that. They also had the “Lazarus Planet” storyline… where all the Lazarus “juice” or whatever the liquid in the Pits is, ended up turning into rain all over the planet, and some people got their powers changed and stuff… so basically, there’s A LOT they can do with Lazarusium or Dionysium (which was involved in the White Knight storyline, iirc, where basically Joker kept always coming back from his supposed deaths because he was kinda immortal due to finding Dionysium which was like proto-Lazarusium or whatever the Lazarus Pit liquid is)… so basically they just have endless options to kill and revive Wonder Woman. And in Wayne Family Adventures they literally reference how every member of the Bat Family except Duke has died and come back to life already… so like… DC can do whatever tf they want. 🤷♀️
Some corrections just to point out is that Diana is the only amazon made by clay, brought to life by the godesess, so she has no father. It would be great if Diana were blessed by them than characters like Zeus or Hades. One thing they can use to explain the numbers of amazons is the well the souls, the place which all of them were birth from. You can explain they use it to expand their numbers, of course this wouldn't work in resurecting Wonder Woman so they must have done something different.

The Amazons lost the war to the God Of War and now it's up to Wonder Woman to return to her home to fight Ares (take down his strongholds, free her sisters and take back the Island form Ares)...... Wow that was soooo hard to come up with a way that the nemesis system could work with this premise.

I REALLY hope that Monolith's Wonder Woman game is good and successful because it would prove that not only Batman would make a good video game to play. I don't want to play only Batman games in the future. Give me a Green Arrow game, a Nightwing game, a Flash game, a Superman game, a Green Lantern game, etc.

I keep wondering if this game is taking a bit extra long because the narrative has been reworked a bit. Not because it's bad, but because James Gunn's new DCU is supposed to be including some in-universe games, as well as the animation, shows and movies, and they've already announced a big HBO series taking place on Themyscira *before* Diana is born, called 'Paradise Lost'. It would be pretty interesting if this game is being reworked to fit into that timeline, and will be the first canonical DCU game. Maybe it takes place after Paradise Lost, but still a long while before modern times. Gunn hasn't been shy about wanting more of a warrior Wonder Woman. This seems more likely to me than all the random things Luke is saying.
As long as there is no microtransactions and they’ve focused on making a cohesive and well made story that could potentially be a first chapter in a franchise AND video game multiverse where they can make games with Batman, Superman and others in the same universe and isn’t a live service game, I’ll be happy.
First off. Zip zap zop!!! Second. It would really cool if for the nemesis system, every time Wonder Woman doesn’t kill an enemy it gets promoted and stronger; potentially becoming a bigger threat later in the game. Would be an interesting way to implement her morality code into gameplay.
I hope that if Gunn's new movie universe succeeds, he'll advocate for bigger and better games to be made. I think that's exactly what needs to be done to revitalize DC.
After Rocksteady's colossal f*ck up with Suicide squad kill the justice league, WB Montréal's mediocre Gotham knights and Monolith's silence as well as the rumors of the game being in development hell I'm damn near ready for the disappointment. Even worse since there was no update at the game awards 3 years later.
Wonder Woman Game. Here we go: I see the story’s main villian being Circe working with Maxwell Lorde to take over Themyscira with Circe creating monsters around the Island and Lorde developing a treatment to give humans meta human abilities. Two open world maps, Washington DC and Themyscira. Diana uses Invisible Jet to fast travel from one map to another. Also Invisible Jet fast travel hotspots around each map. Diana’s traversal will be super speed meter, super jumps, lasso swinging (similar to Arkham Grappling and Web-Swinging), and finally (my favorite) wind currents high in the air for Diana to “glide” through (similar to Spider-Man 2) Diana uses bracelets of submission (hand-to-hand), lasso (whip like combat/interegation), sword and shield (only available on Themyscira), and tiara as a projectile Ideally Diana fights against thugs and meta humans in Washington DC (switching between lasso and hand-to-hand) then fights against mythological threats like Minotaurs and Cyclopes. (Sword and Shield) Boss fights including Giganta, Silver Swan, Dr. Psycho, Medusa and ofc Maxwell and Circe (save Cheetah and Aries for a sequel 🤫)
For the nemesis system they could have her main villains use the system and the more defeats you taken from them the more they become like an alternate universe version of themselves.
Wonder Woman will probably be canocallicy unkillable by non story enemies. But they will take some proof of down and get promoted. But nemisis system is pretty much a super villian origin story generator.
I've been waiting and even hoping for some news on the Wonder Woman game. I do imagine the gameplay to be similar to that of either God of War or similar to Tomb Raider (Reboot series) or even Hellblade. Fingers crossed it'll get something in the game awards and that they won't say it's cancelled.
I prefer how Nintendo does their reveals, "here's this cool game and you can buy it next week!" Also I wonder if they're going to convert the Nemesis system into a Rival system, where you develop notoriety between your fellow Themiscaren Amazons sisters. Wonder Woman is from an Amazonian people that are mostly all warriors and they are very Greek Mythology, all about going on grand adventures and earning glory and honour. I wonder if other Amazons will be doing this at the same time as Wonder Woman and they'll dynamically interact with you based on yours and their adventures.

I've been following DC for some time, and as per what James Gun been doing, he has talked about superman and batman, but not a single thing about Diana. So what they are trying to do is have same actors and stories continue from movies, animation shows, series and games. So that's why they are still not sure what to do, as for this game it's like one of the BIG character in the new DCU.
I would love a WW game! While Superman may be a challenging character to do because he is too OP, but Wonder Woman? A sword, a shield, a lasso and gauntlets that block bullets? That's perfect. Could be a cool "middle ground" between God of War and Arkhamverse.

Monolith should be making a new FEAR or Condemned game. Imagine what they could do with modern hardware and graphics capabilities for them. Could have the thickest atmosphere in any video game if they did it
I'm not in a hurry for this game to come I'd prefer they take their time. The biggest issue I have with game developers today is that they announce their new games too early.
Considering the only relation wonder woman has to suicide squad is that WB owns both I don't see monolith learning from Rocksteady's example. Simply put : WB will never learn that microtransactions in full priced games are scummy and hated because it still works for them and others. If wonder woman fails they'll probably blame consumers and shut down the studio as is the industry standard right now.

If this game would be like year one of batman, and we would generate all new cannon, new gallery of villans, just by fighting them and taking them down. Also I wouldnt mind reputation system for batman, where we can either ghost, or help people in gotham, but usually if somebody sees us they will call the cops, so we need to be stealthy in open world full of civilians. So far in the DCU's current state there is no Wonder Woman. Circe is confirmed to be in Creature Commandos, but we have nothing for WW. In a recent interview, he said that they are working on a first game, but can not shared any more information about it. So is there a chance that this Wonder Woman game could be set in the DCU, and could it be why it is taking so long?

Okay so some external villain like Ares the God of War brought his Army of the Dead to Themyscira to take over the island and enslave the Amazons. The Amazons lost the war to the God Of War and now it's up to Wonder Woman to return to her home to fight Ares (take down his strongholds, free her sisters and take back the Island form Ares)...... Wow that was soooo hard to come up with a way that the nemesis system could work with this premise.

Whereas with WW, that doesn't work bcuz Themyscira is Diana's home and Luke agreed with that guy that the nemesis system won't work really for that reason..... So I posed the obvious, someone takes over the island from the Amazons.... I.e. now they have strongholds in Themyscira that need to be taken back. Explain how what I said was wrong?

I REALLY hope that Monolith's Wonder Woman game is good and successful because it would prove that not only Batman would make a good video game to play. Someone needs to just combine the nemesis system with AC bird vision mechanics and just adapt a medieval The Crow story.

I keep wondering if this game is taking a bit extra long because the narrative has been reworked a bit. Not because it's bad, but because James Gunn's new DCU is supposed to be including some in-universe games, as well as the animation, shows and movies, and they've already announced a big HBO series taking place on Themyscira *before* Diana is born, called 'Paradise Lost'.
It would be pretty interesting if this game is being reworked to fit into that timeline, and will be the first canonical DCU game. Maybe it takes place after Paradise Lost, but still a long while before modern times.
Gunn hasn't been shy about wanting more of a warrior Wonder Woman.
This seems more likely to me than all the random things Luke is saying.
As long as there is no microtransactions and they’ve focused on making a cohesive and well made story that could potentially be a first chapter in a franchise AND video game multiverse where they can make games with Batman, Superman and others in the same universe and isn’t a live service game, I’ll be happy.
First off. Zip zap zop!!! Second. It would really cool if for the nemesis system, every time Wonder Woman doesn’t kill an enemy it gets promoted and stronger; potentially becoming a bigger threat later in the game. Would be an interesting way to implement her morality code into gameplay.

I hope that if Gunn's new movie universe succeeds, he'll advocate for bigger and better games to be made. I think that's exactly what needs to be done to revitalize DC.
After Rocksteady's colossal f*ck up with Suicide squad kill the justice league, WB Montréal's mediocre Gotham knights and Monolith's silence as well as the rumors of the game being in development hell I'm damn near ready for the disappointment. Even worse since there was no update at the game awards 3 years later.

I see the story’s main villian being Circe working with Maxwell Lorde to take over Themyscira with Circe creating monsters around the Island and Lorde developing a treatment to give humans meta human abilities.
Two open world maps, Washington DC and Themyscira.
Diana uses Invisible Jet to fast travel from one map to another. Also Invisible Jet fast travel hotspots around each map.
Diana’s traversal will be super speed meter, super jumps, lasso swinging (similar to Arkham Grappling and Web-Swinging), and finally (my favorite) wind currents high in the air for Diana to “glide” through (similar to Spider-Man 2)
Diana uses bracelets of submission (hand-to-hand), lasso (whip like combat/interegation), sword and shield (only available on Themyscira), and tiara as a projectile
Ideally Diana fights against thugs and meta humans in Washington DC (switching between lasso and hand-to-hand) then fights against mythological threats like Minotaurs and Cyclopes. (Sword and Shield)
Boss fights including Giganta, Silver Swan, Dr. Psycho, Medusa and ofc Maxwell and Circe
(save Cheetah and Aries for a sequel 🤫)
Also add a bunch of collectibles like comic covers and DEFINITELY different suits 🤩
Definitely a lot of potential. I can just imagine Wonder Woman getting intel by using the lasso of truth.
For the nemesis system they could have her main villains use the system and the more defeats you taken from them the more they become like an alternate universe version of themselves.

Wonder Woman will probably be canocallicy unkillable by non story enemies. But they will take some proof of down and get promoted. But nemisis system is pretty much a super villian origin story generator.
I've been waiting and even hoping for some news on the Wonder Woman game. I do imagine the gameplay to be similar to that of either God of War or similar to Tomb Raider (Reboot series) or even Hellblade.
Fingers crossed it'll get something in the game awards and that they won't say it's cancelled.

Wonder Woman is from an Amazonian people that are mostly all warriors and they are very Greek Mythology, all about going on grand adventures and earning glory and honour. I wonder if other Amazons will be doing this at the same time as Wonder Woman and they'll dynamically interact with you based on yours and their adventures.

I've been following DC for some time, and as per what James Gun been doing, he has talked about superman and batman, but not a single thing about Diana. So what they are trying to do is have same actors and stories continue from movies, animation shows, series and games. So that's why they are still not sure what to do, as for this game it's like one of the BIG character in the new DCU.
It's cooking, goddamn. Gamers claim they don't want rushed, broken, buggy games but I'm not sure that's true.

I would love to see you fight the gods as Diana and when you kill them, they rez since they are gods and thats how the nemesis system is implemented. Or just any of her villains really. Diana will work really well in a spiderman/Arkham style game and if that's the aim, im down.

Considering the only relation wonder woman has to suicide squad is that WB owns both I don't see monolith learning from Rocksteady's example. Simply put : WB will never learn that microtransactions in full priced games are scummy and hated because it still works for them and others. If wonder woman fails they'll probably blame consumers and shut down the studio as is the industry standard right now.

In the mean time, ring up AC Odyssey and play as Kassandra. You can find Amazon gear, even in blue and red. Odyssey *feels* like playing as Wonder Woman bc you're basically a heroic demigod running around Greece kicking ass.

This concept would work so good for batman, since he never kills. Like oh shiit, I dropped this guy into acid - well, now hes gonna come back as the Joker! Oh no, I dipped half of this guy into acid - now he's gonna be two-face! If this game would be like year one of batman, and we would generate all new cannon, new gallery of villans, just by fighting them and taking them down.
Also I wouldnt mind reputation system for batman, where we can either ghost, or help people in gotham, but usually if somebody sees us they will call the cops, so we need to be stealthy in open world full of civilians. Buuut thats just my fantazy and ive already go too far...

Something crossed my mind the other day. Maybe I'm stupid, I don't know. But James Gunn has stated that he wants cartoons, live action films and video games in his DCU. So far in the DCU's current state there is no Wonder Woman. Circe is confirmed to be in Creature Commandos, but we have nothing for WW. In a recent interview, he said that they are working on a first game, but can not shared any more information about it. So is there a chance that this Wonder Woman game could be set in the DCU, and could it be why it is taking so long?
They said it won't, totally original and it's own universe. But 3 years have passed, things can change.
