    I was going to say, Glyn will be all over the burgundy XJS 😄 Great collection as always - thanks for this meet. ps - don't worry about the oil leak. In the UK, particularly with British Leyland cars, if they're not leaking oil it's because they've run out and there's none left 🤣

      Hehe, I did also bet he will love the burgundy XJS.
      Always great what's appearing there. I've been there today again but this time with the Jaguar. The guy on the entrance was very satisfied seeing it. He likes especially the fat wheels that the previous owner spent for the car.
      Hehehe, yeah, very true, if it doesn't leak then you can worry that it's already out of oil, haha.
      I figured out it is not leaking when the car stands perfect horizontally. It seems like the sealing is broken at the back part of the oil pan. It also looked like it when I was at the TÜV guy for the MOT. Yet not a big of a deal but I should keep an eye on it. So if it gets worse I better should get the sealing replaced.

    The red engine cover certainly jumps out on you with the white e class Merc.
    I absolutely love the Lincoln Continental Mk5 they are so over the top they are fantastic and very plush interiors. Just look at the front sidelights they are like a mini version of Lalique .As you know they made many variants of limited editions. I think they are great. A real pimpmobile.
    The xjs for facelift versions as you will be aware Mr Jaguar owner(hope you enjoyed taking delivery today) came out in 91 and you can tell the difference from the front grille as well. Its a simpler grille on facelift models with a broad chrome strip along the top and the is no centre badge in the grill to identify the engine size. I love the red metallic Jaguar used a few different ones ( i love a nice red metallic) . The Flamenco red is lovely. Of course the shape of the rear side window also identifies them on the coupe.
    The Audi 80 towards the end looks familiar.
    The TUV sounds very tough and over the top.

      @BFDdrives  Месяц назад +1

      The red engine cover really jumps out on the white E-class. So you will immediately notice it's not the small regular engine in it.
      I also always like to see a Lincoln Continental Mk5 and of course the Mk4 which is looking very similar. The interior is looking like being as comfy as at home on the sofa. Really very nice looking cars with a lot of class. But if you are on the search for a parking lot then it can become tricky for sure.
      Yet I am not an expert about Jaguars, hehe. I was just lucky that today I figured out how to change the time for the clock on that touch display (I am actually very impressed that Jaguar did have multi-coloured touch-displays and also in this size back in 2001 - it's something I didn't see at Mercedes by that time).
      Yesterday I had a nice drive to bring the cat back to home. But I was wondering that the dealership didn't do the minor fixes as discussed like replacing the brake fluid and checking the battery. The battery is still half dead ... actually I was wondering it still worked. I finally figured out how to check the voltage in the bord computer and it had only 10.8 Volt when I picked it up. I knew the red alternator symbol was showing up randomly during the test drive. And I also noticed after a few starts at the test drive that the alternator is charging the battery. Otherwise I wouldn't have bought it with this fault. Battery is on 11.9 Volt, now. But it is always dropping to 11.5 Volt when parking. I bet the battery is half dead. I'll also let the Ford repair shop taking a closer look also to make sure the alternator and the connectors are alright. Perhabs there's also an issue bit they told me in advance it's not a big problem and they know such issues from the Mondeos. At least no electric Gremlins like at French cars. So when the Jag is showing an issue then there's one and they can figure it out relatively easy. I rather have such a more simple problem getting solved than getting the sills replaced like of the other Jag I checked a week earlier. A new battery and alternator doesn't cost as much.
      Just this morning I had a surprise about an issue I wasn't aware of because I wasn't checking about it during test drive. The sprayer for the wiper water wasn't doing anything ... no sound. But well, there's not so much of technic. Can be either corroded connectors or the little electric motor is broken. Also not a big deal. So if that's everything then I'm still happy. Will also book an inspection for the car to get the fluids replaced. The oil doesn't seem to be too old but better getting it replaced because the brake fluid is looking old. So still some things that need to get sorted but I was aware about that. When I bought my Audi 9 years ago it was the same. Just doing a big inspection and getting all fluids replaced but then you know it was really done and then just continuing the maintainance on a regular basis and then there shouldn't be too many bad surprises.
      Haha, yeah, the Audi at the end is also looking familiar to me. The TÜV guy was really very tough about my Audi. But well, the MOT was done and yet no problem. But of course a few things I need to take an eye on. But about the little rust spots that I fixed by myself with the painting stick - this was very picky. But well, at the end he said the car is "ok" ... the older TÜV workers are usually celebrating the car and being happy these still exist. The younger guys seem to don't celebrate such old cars as much.

      @@BFDdrives The battery should have at least 12.6 volts so sounds like a failing battery. If it was agreed with the sale i would be speaking to them.

      The red engine in the Mercedes E-class W210 looks amazing although it's actually smaller than expected. Because the Brabus B9 W210 is based on the E280 4-matic with 6 cylinders. Brabus did also some tunings with up to a 5.8L V12 engine which was insanely fast. But this one here was the "cheap" version of it.
      The red mini car at 8:20/8:56 is the BMW 600 - it's also called to be the big Isetta.
      Thanks a lot. I usually end the videos with my car - unless the battery runs flat, lol.

    Very nice XJS. Always liked the later cars with the smoked rear lights.
    Good to see a TR250 which I had forgotten all about as it was of course produced for the USA only, running on carburettors.
    The W123 280 E in green is a superb looking example. I would love to own one.
    So I am wondering, is the TÜV very strict?

    • @BFDdrives
      @BFDdrives  Месяц назад +1

      I also prefer the facelifts with the smoked rear lights.
      Ah, interesting to know about the TR250 (but I bet I'll have forgotten about it again when I'm seeing one again). The TR5 / TR250 is also not this often on such shows. TR4 and TR4A is something I am seeing a little bit more often which is actually looking as same to me. I've also seen a couple of TR6 on some classic car shows.
      The W123 is also already the most popular classic car in Germany (with road legal registration). It overtook the VW Beetle around 2 years ago. But there are also really some in very nice condition.
      Well, it is also always depending on the guy working for the TÜV. Some are very strict and others are feeling these old cars way different. Assuming the problem was that this TÜV guy was a younger guy. When I've been to another TÜV garage then there was an older guy and he was just celebrating it to see such an old already rare classic. The older guys are aware there can be some patina on the cars in this age and when the value of the cars didn't rise insanely then you can't expect someone to get it completely painted to look like a brandnew car. At the end I was still getting the sticker for 2026 and so everything is fine. Minor technical issues that should get done until 2026 is not the big problem and that's what I am focussing because the other things on the paint weren't an issue for the last 9 years.

    • @ValleyDieCast
      @ValleyDieCast Месяц назад +1

      @@BFDdrives Yes, I have always liked these later XJS', but as an enthusiast, I have a big weak spot for the very early (pre H.E.) cars.
      I am appreciating the TR series much more now than I did when I was younger. The TR6 is very common at shows here.
      That's very interesting about the TÜV. I am thinking then that the older testers use their discretion more than the younger ones.
      Glad to hear it is tested now for another two years. The paintwork looks great for its age. What year is the car?

    • @BFDdrives
      @BFDdrives  Месяц назад +1

      @@ValleyDieCast The paint is indeed great for its age when considering the most of it is still the original paint. Just the rear end was partially restored a few years ago due to some cracking filling paste on the right side of the rear end. The Audi is from 1983.
