I enjoyed this a lot and I’m looking forward to future games. I noted some errors I saw to help you guys improve your play. 4:40 Run action passes through square adjacent to an opposing player, but could have been avoided and still scored a TD. 5:42 Ball should get bounced after being placed on trapdoor. This error is repeated throughout the game. 11:02 Sidestep action into a Marked position is illegal move. Then the same player Sidesteps a second time, which is not allowed, before Running in the TD. Then he took a fourth Reserve action. Note that he could have made a legal Sidestep with the first action, then Run for a TD with his second action, and did the Reserve with his third action, so overall result would have been the same. 15:52 In a Reserve action, the player cannot be placed next to opposing player, unless there is no other option. 16:38 Player can’t score a TD while Marked. However, since the Halfling player shouldn’t have been placed there, the Human player should have been able to Run into the end zone anyway. 23:20 Human player’s coach claimed Move the Ball! after a Mark action that only moved the ball 2 squares. According to the card, the ball must be moved 5 squares away from that team’s end zone in “this action” (so can’t combine movement from multiple actions to claim the card). He could have Run to pick up the ball, then done a Throw to an empty square six squares away (six squares in case it bounced back towards him). As long as he didn’t fumble the Throw roll, he could then have claimed the card.
Hi Bill thanks for the comments. Yeah I spotted most of these when I was editing the video but like you say none of them really changed the outcome, so rather than redo the whole match we decided to let it stand and hopefully these will not be repeated in future videos :-) I didn’t spot the Move The Ball mistake at then end though! Well spotted on that! But again it didn’t change the outcome, but I will know to keep an eye on that for next time thanks. Did you enjoy the Lord Monty and Gumpy commentary? I thought it was quite funny but most of the feedback I’m getting on it seems people don’t really like it!
@@LazarusW I'm having a look through the rules now and I can't see anywhere that it says that the ball should be bounced when it comes out the trapdoor. It just says that the ball is placed on the trapdoor. Is that old rules or something? I think I am playing Seccond Season/Edition.
@@MajorGrooves Hi! The rule exists in both editions. In 2nd ed. rulebook see page 10 under “No Ball in Play”, 3rd sentence: “Then the ball is placed in that square, and bounces (see above).” Only the ball placed at the beginning of the game remains on the trapdoor without bouncing.
Thanks soo much for sharing this video! Me and my son just picked up Blitz Bowl and are really enjoying it and have got a few other friends involved as well. We now have two starters and will be doing a league just like this. Cannot wait for more content! Go Half Pounders!!!!!

I stumbled across Thor video And its amazing I love monty and Gumpy there hilarious and add so much depth to the game I can’t wait to see more of these videos and to here more from monty and Gumpy keep the videos coming there exxxxxxxeeeellllllllleeennntttt
I’m so pleased to here that monty and Gumpy will be back as with them makes it feel more intense and intresting with there wit and funny humour I hope Gumpy remembered the banana milkshake !!!!
Hunter Laskey hi yeah we were following the rules for the cards but I didn’t really show it every turn as I wasn’t sure how interesting it would be for everyone, but watching it back I can see that it could cause some confusion on what we are doing. I’m going to try displaying the cards differently in the next video and see if that helps. I don’t really just want to zoom the camera back so far that you can see the actual cards as then I feel the pitch is to small. If you have any suggestions let me know. Hope you liked the rest of it
Hi Chris yeah we cut out most of the in game commentary after this match as it didn’t really work but we did keep it as an intro and a few other bits, as we were just trying to make it entertaining. But yes, I accept it’s not really everyone’s cup of tea.

I liked the commentary. It’s a light-hearted, beer & pretzels type of game, so a comedic commentary suits it, IMO.

Do you change the cards every turn? I was just replacing the used ones
