I’ve found that I need 1 spacer only on the drive side to make sure the bearing is actually sitting in the right place, the silver part of the crankshaft. If i install without then I’m left with a gap between the pedal arm and the bearing dust cap and over time this will fall off leaving the bearing open to the elements. It doesn’t change the alignment at all. If I install 2 it won’t spin but none is also clearly wrong . Many talk about taking up the gap with o ring between the dust cap and crank arm but if you use the 2.5mm spacer you won’t need the the o ring as the dust cover will be held in place by crank arm. This spins fine and freely and will lead to better bearing life as it’s sitting in the right place. Also for some reason third party options lead to a poor chain line I’ve found though they have better bearings though.
My current crank has spacer on it. But it is a 68mm button bracket with 11 speed deore 5100 cassette. I did not see you put any spacer. Can you please shine some light on this. My front crank is a 1x 42Teeth I want to upgrade it to a better crank like a 1x sram rival crank. My bike is a trek fx4 disc 2021 .
nice one mucka

I have the same problem the BB shell width on my bike is 73mm. and a part of crankset is exposed.
🤝👍Thanks
Great video! QQ: What is the difference between the Team and regular version? Is it the color only?

Great content. Would you advise using a large torque wrench for the BB and Crankset or is a ratchet wrench suitable? I have a carbon frame.
If you’ve got a large enough torque wrench then it’s best to use it to check the final torque!
Is that bb-gxp-a1
Yes!
@@FreeToCycle will it fit my sram rival 1 crankset
Yes if it’s a gxp crankset!
@@FreeToCycle okay cool! Thank you! 🙂
