The greatest moment in my 50 plus years of watching football. Germany had never lost in that ground and were heading for an inevitable victory via penalties, and then this!! One of those where you just have to RUN! I ran up 2 flights of stairs, and just got back in time to see Del Piero seal the deal (too knackered to run back up again). Named my first son Alessandro as a result!
I was in Duomo Square Milano that night. I had forgotten my glasses at home but I had decided to stop in the square to watch the match on the big screen together with all the people. When Grosso scored, I realized that we had scored because I was catapulted to the other side of the square with all the people on top of me, the same thing happened when Del Piero scored. Magic moments
This match was all but close to penalties but to me Italy knew better win fast as they know Germany are very good on penalties. Italy was always a thorn in tournaments vs Germany until 2016
the best goal i screamed in my life.. i remember i jumped out of the seat i screamed like never before what a feel thank you Italy thank you grosso thank you all tat amazing team... after USA 94 ... when i was almost in tears with baggio failing that penalty... finally i could see my italy world champions
