A brief introduction to a Kali practice for facing our fears in darkness. This is an exrbpt from Daniel Odier's Tandava the Cosmic Dance day long practice at SAND16 in Italy.
Daniel Odier became a disciple of Kalou Rinpoche in 1968. Following his teachings, he receives the transmission of Mahamudra. Daniel taught Tantrism and Buddhism in several American universities before founding in 1995, the center Tantra / Chan in Paris. In 2000, he dissolved the center to encourage independent practice and today leads seminars in different countries. His books on Tantra, have been translated into eight languages and deal with the deeper aspects of the Shaivite and Tantric way of Chan.
Recognized as Sifu (Chan master) Daniel brings together budddhism and direct contact with the daily essence of Chan. The practice is centered on meditation in the style of Zhao Zhou, with moments of meditation alternated with free-style walking, in pure presence. (www.zhaozhou-chan.com)

This video prooves very well that all practice, all religion, all culture, use just different terms to speak about the same thing. And what is important is not which one is correct, but which one fit better to your own understanding in order to have the most efficient action on you and your well being. As I was a child I invented tones of characters to help me each day because I was born in an atheist family where no kali, no demons, no jesus, no mohammet and so on can help me. The religion term means to rely people. And how is it done? Thru a common culture, a common language, the use of the same terms to identify feelings and emotions. It's time for the world wide cultures to fuse and give the humanity a new understanding of their life. Persons like Daniel Odier go against this unification by placing their own practice as the good one. Any practice can conduct to enlightment. Words are just a mean to guide people who have no internal feelings that can guide themselves. But "stories" like in the Bible are just means to make people feel something and then put a term on it, the ultimate goal being to help us each other. That's why I'm so sad watching people claming their religion (or practice) is better than others... No, each practice is good if the person who uses it feels what it has to feel in order to progress by understanding the culture, the memory of its ancestors. Because this is the purpose of language to carry the memory. Be open minded and choose the practice and culture that give you the best result for you. No matter what others do. Language is just there to communicate. One can reach illumination without any help, any language... So... Have a nice life :-)

I don't think that for Daniel Odier his practice is the best of all. I think that for him this is the one able to make vibrate his heart: this is the right language for him. Just what you say.
