Thank you for this video bhaiji, the more I learn about enteric coating the more questions I have, I think I know the answer but how do these slow release drugs release slowly due to enteric coating, wouldn't it be similar absorption rate as the stomach, or is it slowly absorbed as peristalsis pushes it through the small intestines? Thank you

Enteric coating is only for releasing drug in the intestine. Once coat dissolves, rate of dissolution is same as that of normal compresed tablet.

One more question, im guessing the enteric coating reduces how quickly the peak blood plasma levels are reached, and reduces the peak to be more smooth in action. Following that, my question is does it take longer for the medication to have efficacy? For example if I use a pill that isn't usually enteric coated like paracetamol, if I take 1g IR, and the equivalent strength over time in quantity EC coated paracetamol, I'm guessing I would notice the IR work faster than if I'd taken EC?

As IR tablet disintegrate and dissolve in stomach it's absorption starts from the stomach. Thus it starts giving efficacy. But, if EC tablet is given its disintegration, dissolution and absorption starts in intestine. Thus it's effect is delayed. But after that it gives efficacy. Thus EC tablet take longer time to produce effect.
