Just had to pause at 4:02. Legally, the landlord HAS to return the deposit amount. They cannot cut any amount from deposit as damages, etc. Damages, electricity bills if pending have to be paid seperately. Please get your lawyer friend to send them a legal notice, Or I can do it too🩷

In summary, Europe is far far safe if you live here in comparison to being a tourist. Please don't compare it to your experience with the overall law and order. Broad day light theft in India doesn't happen because people will take matter in their own hand and beat the shit out of thieves. (Police is useless in such cases). In the US (not sure of the UK), the laws are not that strict against burglary. Also most of the shops are insured, so people don't bother getting in the middle of burglary and taking the risk. In other European cities, so many tourist crime happens that police is so much over burden with such cases that they cannot look everywhere. And in many cases, it is usually the tourist's fault. For example, British tourists are famous for getting drunk and pass out. Sometimes they get into fights, and destroy public property, and so on.
