Linus Tech Tips has apparently licensed the MEGAPRO model linked above for their new driver, and they made the right call. It is hands-down the best ratcheting screwdriver I've used, and I own a lot of them.

This mechanism has been around for at least a couple decades... Several companies have sold drivers with this mech Kobalt, Duralast, Megapro has one too. Wera has something similar called "turbo" that will rotate your bit 4x faster than the handle if you hold the ring, but it's a little different. Instead of always driving the same direction, if you turn left the bit turns left, if you turn right the bit turns right.
I've had a Kobalt "double drive" for probably 15 years. It's exactly the same mechanism. There are obviously variations. Some are very clicky ratchets, others are very smooth almost like gearless ratchets. I actually have a Duralast 3/8" socket wrench with this same mechanism. It's got a big knurled knob on top of the ratchet head that works just like the ring on this driver.

Loooove that dual sided mechanism. My wrist feels grateful already

Just bought one today. I didn't know about the dual drive feature you pointed out till I watched this. Makes me feel even better about the purchase. I agree though about the bits. I wish it had the same bit setup and attachment feature as the V-Series Ratching Screwdriver.
If this tool combines the dual drive feature with the v-series bit attachment feature, it would be the perfect ratcheting driver IMO.

Replace the two sided with two one sided in the handle? Maybe there is enough grip to do that or 3D print a new holder. Thanks for the speed tips I didn’t get it at first.

Is it going to work even I use standard bits?

Can you use standard length bits in the craftsman and still get them back out?

Not really, no. Kinda yes, if you count "using pliers to get them back out" but I don't, so not really. It's too bad, because otherwise this is a damn capable driver. Megapro really got this right and I note the new LTT driver takes the same approach: USE STANDARD SIZE BITS it's not that hard people.

At the time of filming this I wasn't aware of the Kobalt but a friend clued me in later. It's basically the same mechanism, a little more refined but nothing new. It's such a fun mechanism, I can't stop screwing around with it :D
