    Me and my partner were fishing a Southern Collegiate BASS Open Series tournament on Lake Wheeler when the winds picked up to about 15-20 mph and the southern end of the lake got pretty rough. The Xpress X19 handled the rough water extremely well. As you can see the camera got sprayed a few times but neither of us or anything inside the boat ever got wet. We were able to comfortably ride on top of most of the chop in the mid 60s and we were able to trim down and cut through some of the rougher stuff in the mid 50s.
    We hit a max speed of 66.1mph going against the wind, current, and waves with a full tank of gas, oil, full livewells, a full yeti cooler, and BOTH of our tournament equipment. Earlier that morning at blast off going down river with little to zero wind and no waves we ran 69 consistently and bumped 70 a couple of times on the GPS with the same load.

      Love my 2022 H20 Bay with a 150. I haven’t been able to breech 54 but it’s plenty and it’s max HP for my rig. I went to Kentucky lake during 20+ mph winds and out in the channel I got the prop out every other 3footer. Beat it hard that day for 30 minutes at a time traveling in the channel to recreate the ads I saw😂. Just had a loose live well fitting repaired that existed when I bought it. Boat is solid and bone dry. Express promptly repaired and paid the bill at my local dealer. Fuel tank was out for an hour and it was donzo. These boats are built to take quite a bit of abuse. Zero Wood construction. Dual 1100 gph bilge pumps to ensure spearing monster waves is a viable path home. Absolute beast of a 20ft 4in aluminum bay boat. Walk boards all the way around with sprawling contour print seadeck padding. 👊🏼 ulterra on the one boat network by humminbird. 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽

    I watched out of curiosity. Wow, no way I want to go that fast on the water. If I gotta drive my boat more than 10 miles to fish a spot, I'll usually just drive around to another boat ramp, lol. I don't tournament fish anyway, just pleasure. My aluminum boat runs around 30-35 if I want but mostly I run around 25-28 if I'm moving far. We have a 2020 Tritoon that does close to 50...but we run it around 30-35 and that boat we will run 30-40 miles in one direction and then back in a day...but it's just a party.

    Your x19 hangs with the 20 and 21 foot boats except when you PASS them ❗️

    I’d be concerned about crossing a small patch of shallower water that was pushing up some rollers. Could be a lethal combination.

      That’s why I run Lakemaster charts on my Humminbird. They’re great for fishing and also safe navigation!

    Awesome setup man! I just bought a 2007 xpress 16 ft how do you like it so far i know that yours is a little bigger and wider deck but any complaints? Mine only has a 50 hp Yamaha so nothing crazy but it’s good enough for me!

    How did the boat handle the waves? The view on the video looks rough. But from personal ride how was it?

    • @SethLee
      @SethLee  3 года назад +6

      Jordon Hall For an aluminum boat I don’t think it could be any better. It’s definitely not a 21 foot ranger or an xb-21 Allison but it handled the waves well. It really shines if you aren’t scared to get it up on the pad and actually ride over the top of the waves instead of trimming down and plowing through them. I personally have bad lower back problems and typically in other boats, like a triton for example, I would have bad back pain after a ride like this but i was okay to fish and not in agony the rest of the day after this ride!

    Senseless really small boat running that fast , rough water is made for bigger boats , very dangerous in smaller boats hats off for hanging in with that gut beater , xpress boats alway ran fast. That one has some nice speed to it.

    This isn't "rough water" get on the great lakes in 3-4ft white caps and then we'll talk. I've been on wheeler, Wilson and Pickwick in "rough" conditions and it's nothing compared to the great lakes

    • @SethLee
      @SethLee  3 года назад +4

      Get out in the ocean in 5, 6, maybe 7 footers. That’s “rough water.” I live right by the beach and we go offshore fishing all the time. “Rough water” is relative to what body of water you’re on and the vessel you are in. For lake wheeler (and 99% of other lakes in the country) and a 19’ aluminum boat this is rough water.
