This is the BIGGEST plot twist on the album coz i thought this would be a typical sad piano song coz whenever there's a legend like Elton on a song (not his own but many features) it's always like a slow calm song but the way both POPPED OFF on this is EPIC

The ending makes sense and perfect for this song.
The title of this song is SINE FROM ABOVE. Sine is a kind of sound wave.
And in the ending, you can hear something surprising that shocks your soul. That is the sine that she is looking for. That is the lightning that she is praying for.
That sound in the end is the sine that she's been looking for since the beginning.

Sine isn't a sound wave, it's a mathematical function produced by measuring the rotation of a circle. It's also found in mains AC because of the reciprocating motion of a generator. Mapping a Sine wave to the pitch of a note isn't a particularly nice thing to hear.

yh but theres also SINE waves

    • @TheGreat595
      @TheGreat595 4 года назад +8

@@neuroticgurl0295 Sine Wave is the term given to drawing out the function Sine on a grid. The waveform of Sine starts at 0:0, rises to 90:1, returns to 180:0, drops to 270:-1, then finishes at 360:0 for the cycle to repeat.
Sine waves occur almost everywhere in nature, but not that often in actual music.

Lady Gaga is the lightning I prayed for. When I was young, I was afraid of being myself, she made me feel it was right to be gay. When I started to cut myself and feeling insecure about my body, her songs, her messages, gave me confidence. When I was depress, I learnt from her that I was able to express that pain in an artistic way and since then, I been creating so many things because of her. She is such an amazing person and inspiration. I will always love her.

    LYRICS
    [verse 1: lady gaga]
when i was young, i prayed for lightning
my mother said it would come and find me
i found myself without a prayer
i lost my love and no one cared
when i was young, i prayed for lightning
    [pre-chorus: lady gaga]
yeah, i looked with my face up to the sky
but i saw nothing there, no, no, nothing there
yeah, i stared while my eyes filled up with tears
but there was nothing there, no, no, nothing
    [chorus: lady gaga]
i heard one sine from above (oh)
i heard one sine from above (oh)
then the signal split in two

“When I was young, I prayed for lightning” followed up by “But there was nothing there” is extremely powerful to me, as a gay guy raised in a Muslim country I had zero hope for my future when I was a kid, I basically accepted that I would have to live in the closet for the rest of my life and never truly be myself in public. Thankfully that wasn’t the case and my life turned out to be even better than I could wish for, but listening to this song still made me cry for the child I was 15 years ago. I wish I could go back and tell him that he is going to be just fine.

Guys please, yes, the album is a masterpiece, and this song is a gem, BUT the music producers and co-writers deserve the praise too, Gaga and Elton are amazing there is no doubt about that, but in this song they are very prominent producers, BloodPop, Ryan Tedder (One Republic), Axwell (SHM), Sebastian Ingrosso (SHM), Burns, Salem Al Fakir, and more producers, the kick, the synths and the melody, it's pop but has a hint of progressive house and it's fantastic

    LYRICS. 💕
    [Verse 1: Lady Gaga]
When I was young, I prayed for lightning
My mother said it would come and find me
I found myself without a prayer
I lost my love and no one cared
When I was young, I prayed for lightning
    [Pre-Chorus: Lady Gaga]
Yeah, I looked with my face up to the sky
But I saw nothing there, no, no, nothing there
Yeah, I stared while my eyes filled up with tears
But there was nothing there, no, no, nothing
    [Chorus: Lady Gaga]
I heard one sine from above (Oh)
I heard one sine from above (Oh)
Then the signal split in two
The sound created stars like me and you
Before there was love, there was silence
    I heard one sine
And it healed my heart, heard a sine
    [Post-Chorus]
Healed my heart, heard a sine
Healed my heart, heard a sine
[Verse 2: Elton John & Both]
When I was young, I felt immortal
And not a day went by without a struggle
I lived my days just for the nights
I lost myself under the lights
When I was young, I felt immortal
[Pre-Chorus: Lady Gaga & Elton John]
Yeah, I looked with my face up to the sky
But I saw nothing there, no, no, nothing there
Yeah, I stared while my eyes filled up with tears
But there was nothing there, no, no nothing
[Chorus: Lady Gaga & Elton John, Lady Gaga]
I heard one sine from above (Oh)

Then the signal split in two
The sound created stars like me and you
Before there was love, there was silence

The sound created stars like me and you
Before there was love, there was silence

Well... This is actually a progressive house genre, also not to mention the Drum & Bass switch up in the end.
Apart from the phenomenal vocals by Lady Gaga and Elton John, a couple of big names were also included as the producer(s)/writer(s) of the whole track (not featured, but credited). 2/3 of the Swedish House Mafia - *Axwell & Ingrosso* - actually written and produced this very track for Gaga and Elton's collaboration. So this would explain why it's mostly a progressive house but still stuck with the euphoria sounds of Lady Gaga and Elton John.
To name a few, there are many other producers/DJs that actually worked with Lady Gaga on this album:
      _"911"_ - Produced by Madeon
_"Plastic Doll"_ - Produced by Skrillex
_"1000 Doves and Babylon"_ Produced by Tchami
I might've missed some in here, but feel free check out the Chromatica tracklist and see for yourselves!

The track before, Replay, they use kind of rewind ⏪ effect. While the song about trauma, its coming over, and over, and over.
    Haunting you.
Then here, Sine from Above, they use fast forward ⏩ effect. The song about finding healing from the sound, to make you go forward and move on with your life.
Damn, that is powerful and mindblowing 🤯

“Immortal” is the best way anyone can define youth. It feels endless in both cheerful and traumatic memories. That also explains “pray for lightning”. Lightning means new life for the dead (Frankenstein), and death for the livings, and thus, mortality for the immortal. Lightning brings both light and sound to break the eternal darkness and silence. Lightning, just like love, free us from immortality by bringing us both life and death.
It is also just a big mood for Gaga and Elton John to talk about when they were young. Imagine that.

    SINE FROM ABOVE(LYRICS)
    [Verse 1: Lady Gaga]
When I was young I prayed for lightning
My mother said it would come and find me
I found myself without a prayer
I lost my love and no one cared
When I was young I prayed for lightning
    [Pre-Chorus: Lady Gaga]
Yeah, I looked with my face up to the sky

Healed my heart, heard a sine
Healed my heart, heard a sine

And not a day went by without a struggle
I lived my days just for the nights
I lost myself under the lights

For everyone that are confused with the style, this is ''mellow trance'' music 90's style, similar to Faithless, Robert Miles, etc, (and not house music as others said) and at the latest part of the track, it suddenly has a huge drum 'n bass drop. So, mellow trance/drum n bass are the styles of the track.

@@Jeffreemedrano no, because it competed at the same time and categories as 21 by Adele, and Adele's album was such a huge force at the time.

Grammys are a scam, it’s based off popularity
Not talent. Remember when cardi won best album
      Of the year? 😬

Gaga’s and Elton’s voices sound so nice together! They should release an album together!

There's a kind of desperation in this song.
Its truly astonishing that she can capture that kind of feeling and translate it into Dance Pop
Her and her producer did a great job!
