The 226 is my all time favorite handgun. I have 3 of them , the legion , MK25 and now the Pro. The Pro is my favorite of all. It shoots hands down better than any 226 I have ever shot. Smooth as glass . Thanks for a great review
Hey I am thinking of buying the p229 pro. I handled one at the local gun shop and fell in love with the grips. So my question is, do the slide cutouts make the slide too light and thus adding more recoil? Or does it feel the same to shoot? I know you have the p226's, but since you have all of them I wanted to know how they each feel relative to each other.
I have the legion and love it. Plan to grab the x5 with the rosewood grips next. It is also my favorite handgun. The piranha grips on the pro look dope
Try shooting it from a rest. You'll more easily notice if you're dropping the front a tiny bit before it fires. Then u can counter the drop with upward pressure from the off hand middle finger under the trigger guard. Worked for me at least.
I have a P226 Tacops and would love to refresh it with that pro-cut slide, some grips, and a decent optic. Never had experience with guns my entire life and that was the first handgun I’ve purchased. Still very much a newbie. Now have a 229 and looking to add another Sig maybe next year. I have a Glock 17 and a few P250s, but after I started shooting I realized I’m not a huge fan of the polymer frames. I just like that machined feel. If I get a CCW and was thinking about a Glock 26, but might look at one of the compact Sigs. Anyone have recommendations on a compact Sig that would have that similar quality to a 226 or 229?
More coverage of one of my top three pistols instead of tupperware. 226, Beretta 92/M9, CZ75. I have the MK25, Extreme and an older German P220. All are excellent. And if you get the chance try a Beretta 92X double action trigger. Very good.
@@thetexasgunvault I have the 92x RDO G/decocker model. Apparently it has, if I remember right, an enhanced trigger like the M9A4. DA is lighter than usual, SA is good and trigger reset is short similar to the Sig SRT trigger. It is most likely replacing my 92A1 that is slightly modded.
I really enjoyed shooting the 226, 229, 220 pistols, but I have to say, although I lean towards the da/sa decocker models of them, as a lefty, I had to go with the sao guns in their lineup.
Good morning, Jason, I did a quick search, and that model is available here, but $3490 I will need a change of fortune. Jason, I also noticed that the pistol shoots better than the chap holding it,
@@thetexasgunvault Not really, we have an exchange rate of about 64cents to your dollar. So that taken into account will make it more expensive. It what you live with, when you live in the real world of Oz.
Lightening cuts that go all the way through the slide are foolish. You're just asking for a foreign materials to intrude into the barrel/slide connection and jam the gun. Drop this gun and a standard 226 in a sand pile and guess which one will keep on working...it's not the "pro-cut". Imagine cutting a bunch of holes in an AR-15's receiver just to lighten it a little? Nobody would ever do it...and for good reason. That's why they have a "dust cover"...to try to keep anything out of the inner workings of the action.

You are very welcome and I am so glad you enjoyed it!

. Will this pro slide work on 226 extreme cali compliant
The Sig p series are some of the best out there! I have a 5 different p226's the are all great pistols. Great review!
I think the P226 is the pinnacle of the post P200 pistols.
I shot one of these last week. Extremely accurate, consistent, and fast. This may overtake my the macro as my favorite shooter.
It is a great pistol! I am glad to hear you enjoyed it.
Great review as always. I have a p226 SAO legion. It’s great
Thank you so much! You have wonderful pistol there!
I got the pro cut slide for my p226 MK25, I put a sig Romeo1Pro red dot, love it.
That sounds like a really nice pistol!
Love the Orange County FL plates. shout out to the 407......
That's where I am from!

Good advice. Thank you.
I have a p226 Sao legion I am wondering does the pro cut make it softer shooting? I doubt it
It should be the same.
@thetexasgunvault other than cosmetics enzymes put a Red Dot doesn't seem like it's worth the investment

Just carry the 229 or 226

I totally understand why. Both are great though.
I shoot lights out with this one.... but I have big hands, it is a full sized grip.
It is a pretty sweet pistol.

WOW! That is pricey!

Jason, you are over thinking it. This 226 is a race gun in most cases. Not a carry one.
Good gun.
Thanks Brian.
Why the owner didn't put red dot on it, the slide is meant for that.
He may not have had one for it and prefer irons. I just review them as I get them.
For the $ I wish they had put threaded barrels
I agree 100%!
Looks like almost zero recoil
It is pretty nice.

Very good point.
Leagues better than any series of half-plastic piece of garbage from ANY of the big names. Including the 320s.
I agree with that. These are simply quality.
