    SOME NOTES HERE:
    *I did not make this mod! All work was done by BloodyMuffin on Mod DB!
    *The crowbar sound isn't supposed to be silenced, I scripted that part incorrectly! I misread a part of the mod's readme and it turns out it's not intended to remove the sound entirely, and it seems that's a bug with the mod itself, ironically. I'm hoping it's fixed in the next version!
    *I am astounded by the reception this video has gotten, and I thank you all so much for your interest in this mod and my channel! Thank you for your time and I look forward to making more content soon!

      Audio Tip: sometimes the volume of the music may make it harder to hear your voice, or otherwise clutter it. To circumvent this you have to manually lower the volume of everything else when speaking, sadly if done well no one will notice it.

      Even on the console side, you can compare MGS1 (1998) to the MGS2 (2001), or Silent Hill (1999) to Silent Hill 2 (2001). The difference's staggering, although more understandable, seeing how consoles are locked to their specs for their entire lifespan.

    HL:S was always a rather weird idea. From what I recall it disappointed fans expecting more from it, it disappointed people expecting the game to show off the power of the Source engine (it came out a few months before HL2), and a lot of fans of the original simply didn't care for the Source "enhancements." Congrats on getting an alg hit with this one. Really good "first" video. I recommend that, even if you stay at 720p60, you look into pumping up the visual quality, by increasing your capture and export bitrate and forcing some higher grade anti-aliasing. Your mouse movements are already pretty calm and smooth (for the most part), but that is another aspect where you can make the viewer more comfortable. Bunny-hopping in a vent and flick turns don't translate too well if you're watching someone else doing them. Best of luck for your next video, I'm cheering for you.

      Same. I don't recall it being a mess either, all I remember was thinking 'oh cool Half-Life with ragdoll physics' at the time. Finding out about all these glitches after so long is almost enlightening lol and as the icing on the cake I was looking for patches for it just the other day. I'm glad this was recommended to me.

      You might have played the game before the updates made to the engine. The initial version of HL Source was less buggy.

    It's nice to see someone implementing these fixes, but I still think there are other problems in the game that are not actually glitches but are actually intentional changes, like the weird random vertical recoil that they added to the MP5 for example

      wait until you use black mesa's mp5

    • @nic1514
      @nic1514 3 года назад +1

      I have used it and I'm fine with it since Black Mesa is a fan made reimagining of the game, more than a remake.
      Half-Life Source is an official port of the game to a new engine and it's just stupid that they changed the functioning of things in a port of the original game.

    In a weird round-about way, I think Half-Life: Source being broken is actually the charm of it, rather than being just another port of Half-Life. It's so broken that it's humorous! Nice to see community-made fixes though!
