HOW TO MAKE ELDERBERRY SYRUP~ GREAT FOR THE FLU BUG

- I have been making elderberry syrup even when my kids were little, it really does help fight the flu. It gives you extra vitamin C and it’s a natural way to help your kids get better. Plus, it’s super super easy to make.
You can find dried elderberries at your local co-op or you can order them online. I ordered these organic elderberries off of Amazon and it wasn’t too expensive at all.
Elderberry syrup ingredients:
So the ratio is four to one so it’s going to be 4 cups of water to every cup of dried elderberries.
4 cups of water
One cup of dried elderberries
2 tablespoons of chopped ginger
1 tablespoon of chopped turmeric
Three cinnamon sticks
1 tablespoon of cloves
One cup of raw, honey
So if you don’t have these hole, you can also add the powder if you would like the only thing is the powder doesn’t dissolve as well and so you are gonna have a little bit of a powdery texture when you’re taking it.
You can cook this on medium to low heat for a couple hours and then just let it set till it cools and that’s when you’re gonna drain everything and add the raw honey. But I decided to let mine set overnight just because I really wanted more of a concentrated Syrup from the elderberries and all of the other wonderful ingredients. But either way I think it’s gonna be still just as helpful if you just do the two hours simmering and then let it sit till it cools off, which is probably gonna take another hour.
Like I said in the video, we take 2 tablespoons a day unless you’re not feeling good I would definitely take another two at night. And you can also just take this as an upkeep just to keep yourself healthy because honestly, it has the most wonderful ingredients in it, and I drink it every single night at night I grab my tea, my elderberry teabag, and then all of the ingredients I listed and it’s so funny because I honestly can’t taste the ginger anymore because I constantly put it in my water throughout the day and tea so it’s not as spicy as it was when I first started taking it.
The one major thing I noticed when I was doing my elderberry tea every day with all the wonderful ingredients is that my stomach wasn’t bloated anymore, and I wasn’t sick to my stomach like I used to be constantly. It really did help my digestive some quite a bit because I’ve been having some serious problems with my stomach and it was really concerning me so I added the ginger turmeric, cinnamon, and cloves to my daily tea and of course I add lemon, which is also really good but it has completely changed my digestive system and I’m really thankful because I’ve been miserable for the last two years not understanding what was going on with my body.
