The fact that the HC68 has separate beam and flood functionality is the key. I bought both of these on Amazon to see which one I wanted to keep and that feature makes it the winner. Plus the on\off button is much better.
I agree completely that the control of Flood vs Spot is essential. While I really like the concept of multiple LEDs for efficiency but I'm the opposite of you in that I use the Flood more than the Spot and the HC65 lacks in this area enough so that I'm going with the 68. The blending of Spot and Flood by fading back and forth between both lenses is genius. Great Review!
With the +/- buttons on the HC68 you can move up OR down in brightness, exactly what you want at night. On the HC65 you must cycle up past high brightness to get back to low - deal breaker for me.
As an astrophotographer I use red light mainly because human eye deoesnt change adaptation so much with red light, and so red light for astronomers is must.
For headlamps, could you include a video of how the light directed into the water behaves? Calm water and with waves? Fishermen have a problem with refraction of light. How does multi-source light behave when in contact with rippled water? Thanks.
Коллега, я тоже озабочен этим вопросом! Из опыта могу сказать, что эти фонари неподходящий вариант, у HC 68 очень холодный свет. Я ищу максимально теплый. Теплый даже мутную воду как туман пробивает.
Just used my HC65 UHE for the first time. This thing is BRIGHT AF. Only bad side is it attracts every bug within a mile of it. Had so many land on my face it was a little distracting. The alternate white leds work great for slower walking or up close tasks.

Scummy move tbh

Just ordered the HC65. Been super pleased with my HC65v2. Thanks for the video. Made me feel that I made the right choice. Run often in the forest.

Hi, thank you for the video
Which headlamp has the widest flood beam?
And what are the lumens for the red LEDs?
As an astrophotographer I use red light mainly because human eye deoesnt change adaptation so much with red light, and so red light for astronomers is must.
whats the best mix of flood and spotlight with high lumens and 5+ hours of runtime?

@@aliveandkicking1977привет братьям славянам с Русского Крыма!!!
can turn on the light during charging both of them ?
What is the light temperature of approximately the 65th model,? You need a good low-beam floodlight to work in 30-70 cm. from the walls and floor
Low power mode is 4500K, mid and higher are 6000K
oh man, i wish you showed if the HC68 light (body) fits into the HC65UHE headband. thanks for the great review anyway.
And the battery?
Hi, is the headband of 68 applicable to 65UHE?
Just used my HC65 UHE for the first time. This thing is BRIGHT AF. Only bad side is it attracts every bug within a mile of it. Had so many land on my face it was a little distracting. The alternate white leds work great for slower walking or up close tasks.
It has tale magnet?
@@magar214 it's a headlamp. Why would it have a tail magnet?
@@aggaviriyo790 it isn't difficult imagining one using it in that way.
@@aggaviriyo790You can remove it from the headband and use it stood on its end as a lantern. A magnet on the screwcap end would be handy
Yes like the HC35's do! 2700 lumens an tail mag.
What is the beam angle on the HC65 UHE?
Which is better for industrial use??
HC65 UHE IMO.
It has perfect balance.
Can the hc68 use the same battery as the hc65 UHE with a capacity of 4000mah?
Yes, I just bought the nightcore 400 mAh battery for my HC68 and it works fine.
Lots of features that have been on Coast headlamps for years
So?
I wish they 'd simply improve upon the old HC65 and not completely change it while offering nothing with same features ...
H65, does it have the red flashing function?
(Thank you - By FRANCESCO Italy)
