I actually use the video to show how NOT to do a pickoff. After about 50 viewings, I promised I would send comments. Just understand first that we incorporate rope access skills into rope rescue training. 1.) Use a long Prussik with carabiners on each end to connect you to the victim's rope. There is no need to invert in this whole video. None. 2.) Why invert at all if the Victim is in descent mode. There is no need for it. Looks cool and .....that's about it. 3.) Give a solid explanation why the instructor believes he has to be inverted (again) in order to lower the Victim on the rack. The reason he had to pull all the slack out of the rope was due to tensioning the pickoff strap while inverted (not good). 4.) Bad Victim placement as the Victim's body is sandwiched and bent over under the rescuer's ass.
You guys are brave not only for hanging in the air but also for making videos on youtube.

i wish nobody would get hurt repeating what you guys show here

Any videos of proper tactics?
@@JC-op9bo I will certainly do one, sir!
It will pertain to the part of the video that starts at 23:00 minutes. There are much more effective and less time restrictive techniques.
What if the victim's hair is caught in their descender? How would you lower them onto your strap?
irata system seems sooo much safer and all around more simple
extrication gloves for ropes?
Screw lock carabiner? Smh.
