Acrylic paint does not penetrate the leather…it sits on top of the leather…now leather dye penetrates the leather and makes for a better finished handbag. It takes several coats of the dye and wipes in between before the best end results are achieved. I don’t know that this is real Vernis leather…
@@daisydhey I don’t think you are supposed to wipe off acrylic paint. Artists use it for painting portraits. I used it to paint a picture of a woman’s face on one of my handbags. It doesn’t penetrate the leather like leather dye does. I have used it on leather bags, but I don’t wipe it off. I let the paint dry before I apply another coat and I do seal it with a paint sealer. I have also created paint splatter effects on handbags with acrylic paint.
