It’s interesting that Agnetha wasn’t part of this choir. Had she been in America to record I stand alone? She’s the only well-known female Swedish singer missing here. Even Frida is here.
Benny says in the interview that there were none that turned down the offer to participate in the choir but there were some that couldn't make it because they were away (traveling).
Agnetha does NOT do these live performances. She is most comfortable in controlled environments like the studio. She has always been known for her technical issues that are exposed in live environments. That is why there is so very little of Agnetha, solo, live, Live-to-air TV, etc... as opposed to Frida who came from the stages: 1956-1972, TV shows, 1967-1972. Lots of touring.
@@danbike9 Well, this here is a studio recording. It's not a live performance on stage. And you can be sure that what is shown here is not the actual recording. The TV crew would create too much noise. They probably shot a run-through and later overdubbed the actual studio recording.
@@p.m.6064 You missed my point. Agnetha would never put herself in a situation like this, with a who's who of female vocalist from Sweden. Frida being highly respected by her peers, and has been the case since her childhood. Agnetha has never garnered the praise and admiration from her peers like Frida. Frida and Lena Andersson are part of this group. No Agnetha. Lena and Frida were Stikkan 'Stig' Anderson/Polar Music golden girls. What I said about Agnetha is true, regarding live performance. In this particular instant she would be among top vocalist. Her pitch issues would pop up during this session. She would not put herself in such a situation. She has always preferred studio. In the 90's Swedish Queen Silvia celebrated her 50th birthday at the Royal Hall. All the big name Swedish entertainers performed. Frida sang a cappella 'Dancing Queen' with back-up by a cappella group, The Real Group. Agnetha did not participate in this major event. Pre ABBA', In her solo studio recording days she was promoted by her record label. She did not get recognized with live performances. Frida on the other hand, from 1956 was on the stages. Later after a couple of National Best vocalist wins, 1964 & 1967, she started her TV, live-to-air gigs. Agnetha rarely but herself in LIVE situations were she was solo/isolated. Or, with a large group of talented vocalist, like shown here or at the Royal Hall, 50th birthday celebration for Queen Silvia, etc...
@@danbike9 sorry, but that’s all pure assumptions. Agnetha has performed multiple live concerts prior to ABBA, she even starred in a musical. She would most definitely have participated in this recording here had she been/asked or available.
