For the Bigfoot thing, it's not just about whether they think he's real. Plenty of people are into Bigfoot and they don't want hunters accidentally shooting someone in a Bigfoot costume.
The WA bigfoot law was passed because there was a huge bigfoot craze at the time and it was passed to cut down on the idiots in the woods hunting for a creature that looked like a hairy man. The jail time also had a $10,000 fine.

A really neat fact about New Hampshire is that it doesn't have a sales tax. Also, there's a town in Missouri where dancing is outlawed, but I'm not sure if it's really enforced nowadays. It's the same town that inspired Footloose.
I remember when Oregon was talking about making it legal to pump your own gas and there were people that were against it because they thought it was dangerous but didn't think that practically every other state allows people to pump their own gas. It seemed like a big issue for a while.
Blue laws are a trip. Some that used to be on the books into 1980s in New York are: department stores couldn’t open until after 1 pm on Sunday. Drug stores and bakeries could but anything else had to wait until long after church got out. Alcohol could not be sold or purchased on Sunday until after noon. Time bars closed depended on the county. Bars where I lived closed at midnight went to college and they closed at 3am.
These are really interesting laws in these different states. This is very intriguing. I swear if people did hear I wouldn’t doubt if they all thought they were stupid.
