  • In this video Dr. Mikel Cary from ‪@prophetictimes‬, looks at the prophecy concerning the church at Laodicea in Revelation that Jesus gave to the Apostle John. This message is a prophetic warning for believers today, that we must not ignore. It is also a call for believers to discover the power of wholeheartedness towards God. This teaching is based on Revelation 3:14-22.
We’re the Prophecy Watchers. We have a long history of working to bring the truth of Bible prophecy to an audience of Christian believers who may not have local access to sound prophetic teaching, based upon the inspired writings of the Apostles and the traditional doctrine concerning the rapture of the church. Though we don’t believe in setting dates, it is clear that the rapture of the church is imminent, perhaps much nearer than we think.

Yes! finally somebody addresses this topic. Now please answer these questions for me.
1 - were the Laodacians Christians initially according to the text ?
2 - Jesus promises to vomit them out his mouth and not spit them out. Why?
3 - why does Jesus want them to buy His gold ( amongst other items) do they can be rich? Why does he want them to be rich and what does he mean by “rich”
If this church is representative of the final church age then it opens up a massive subject to discuss. Yes there is a prophecy in this portion of scripture but the guy on this video has missed it

      * All of the 7 Churches in Rev. are Christian Churches, and the words that Jesus Christ is saying applies to all of them. Note the ending of the message to each Church. The correct interpretation, I believe, is to spit them out. The gold that Jesus wants them to buy is not the gold that most people recognize, but is spiritual gold which is much more valuable. The Bible asks the question, " what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, but loses his soul "? It's better to be rich in the things of the Lord, than to be rich in worldly possessions.

I've heard this passage used to defend the belief that if you are lukewarm, you've lost your Salvation or that you are still Saved but you will not be raptured due to being lukewarm. Can you touch a little on those issues? Thank you!

Can’t lose your salvation because it has nothing to do with you and is all about Jesus. You also can’t miss the rapture but those Christians that are not walking with the Lord will have shame at His appearing

So if the luke warm Christians are still saved (with othe words stiil come to be with the Lord at the end) why the warning to Laodicea? What does it mean to be speat out of Jesus' mouth.
It doesn't sound like saved to me... Or does it to anyone?

    • @cat-bg3rv

I have the understanding that the Luke warm Christians are the "carnal" Christians. They will be measured or judged as such by Yahweh regarding rewards.

A lukewarm person doesn’t believe on the finished work of Christ .Jesus said Revelation 3:15-16 15
I know your WORKS ,( Galatians 2:16 know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified.
)that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm-neither hot nor cold-I am about to spit you out of my mouth. Lukewarm isn’t someone sitting on the fence its people who outright don’t believe on the FINISHED work of Jesus or professing Christians who add works i.e. keeping the law to be saved.
Repent means to change your mind so in the case of the Jews they had to stop sacrificing animals for their sin and believe God had paid for all sin so repent from repenting of sin . Would Jesus vomit a believer out of His mouth .

DON'T MAKE POWERLESS HIS WARNING DOCTOR. A WARNING IS A WARNING. THERE'S NO STROKING IN JESUS' WARNING.
YOU WOULD "SOOTH THE PROUD" OUT OF WHAT OUGHT TO BE THEIR FEAR AND TREMBLING???
Go ahead. Sooth them right on into Matthew 7:21.
LAW TO THE PROUD. GRACE TO THE HUMBLED.

    The but why!
Okay, I am well aware of the history and the merchant industry of all the churches mentioned in Revelation.
However, Division characterizes the world today and the church is as divided as the politics of our nation. But why is the church in such a blinded condition? What solution does God present to this last church (not the world)?
Rev 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
I will (Greek - mellō). “I am about to,” on the point of. I am so disgusted, I’m to the point of spitting you out!
Spew thee (se emesai). First aorist active infinitive of emeō, , to reject with extreme disgust, here alone in the N.T.
you say, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: This is the miserable state of the church today.
    Rev 3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear;
I have often wondered why commentators and pastors can’t see the obvious in these verses of scripture. Buy of me gold? What is the underlying meaning of this? The Amen, the Faithful, the True Witness and source and origin of creation says - I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire. And what is gold tried in fire? Peter tells us the trial of our faith, being much more precious than of gold that perishes, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: 1Pet 1:7. The gold is tried and true Christians of true faith found to the praise, honor and glory of Christ Jesus. They have been refined; the dross has been removed through trials and testing. They have put forth the effort, the labor, the diligence in study. This demonstrates the void and the NEED of this last church, lacking by choice tried and true pastors: but on the contrary they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; (they want their ears tickled) And they shall turn away their ears from the truth. 2Ti 4:3,4. And this is why they are blinded and can’t see. The church thinks it’s rich but has nothing in Christ. The gold is the tried, tested, true and pure faith of more than the mere professing Christian: and the white raiment is the righteousness of Christ imputed to the believer. In this late hour we seem to find the vessels of dishonor outnumber the vessels of honor. It’s not due to the lack or absence of knowledgeable, equipped saints, but the church is more interested in Esau’s than Jacob’s. It’s by choice!
The Christian life is a trial, a test, a journey and a pilgrimage. The fining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold: but the LORD trieth the hearts. Pro 17:3 And I will turn my hand upon thee, and purely purge away thy dross, and take away all thy tin: Isa 1:25. Take away the dross from the silver, and there shall come forth a vessel for the finer. Pro 25:4
It's also troubling that there are a few references in the Bible that could be a double reference to Ephraim as a type of the church. Ephraim - fruitful in the land of affliction can be compared to the church in the world during the harvest of Pentecost. It’s disturbing to find in Hosea that Ephraim in his later stage “feeds on the wind” - or could he be “blown about by every wind of doctrine”? The Lord says of Ephraim, Yet I taught Ephraim to walk; I took them on my arms; but they knew not that I healed them. I drew them with cords of a man, with bands of love: and I was to them as they that take off the yoke on their jaws, and I laid meat unto them. He shall not return into the land of Egypt, but the Assyrian shall be his king, because they refused to return to me. The yoke of bondage was the law and Egypt is a type of world. The Assyrian is often in context of evil forces and powers of darkness. Verse 7 goes on to say my people are bent to backsliding from me: though they called them to the most High, none at all would exalt. Maybe I’m reaching a little, being dogmatic or applying my own eisegesis, nevertheless, it’s an eye opening, interesting comparison.
