The Cannabis was warmer and smoother. That to me was the winner.

Cannabis all day long for me,but enough about my weed habit 😂 Cool riffage too Rich. They both sound good though man

I think they were vastly different to my ears. The Emminence speaker sounded better it had a warmer tone to me. The original Blues Junior amp was brighter and not in a good way. I have made a swap like this before in a Fender amp I had I changed out the original speaker for a Emminence Legend and the amp really warmed up, I really like Emminence speakers. Thanks for the shootout it was good fun.

They do sound different but I don’t know if I prefer one over the other. They both sound good to my old ears. I always enjoy watching your playing. Your a very talented guitar player. I’m strictly rhythm I don’t make it cry or sing. 😜

Yeah, that Cannabis Rex version sounds killer. I thought I'd be on the fence. The difference is night and day.

The rex sounded sweeter and more rounded to me. The standard speaker sounded brighter with that dreaded ice pick top end.

Hi Rich, thanks for another excellent upload. I have the Mk IV (really great amp) and I put a Cannabis Rex in it, I thought the original A Type speaker was good but you know, we can't help ourselves. I like either speaker especially when the family is out and I can let her rip :).

Thanks, I'm getting few comments from people saying they liked the stock speaker. I'm leaning toward the cannabis rex because it seemed a little darker/thicker sounding.

The Rex: The color is hideous. The sound is so nice though. Did you ever think your biggest crowd/audience would be in a spare room at your house?

I have a tweed Blues jr with a Fromel electronics upgrade and a cannabis rex speaker. Sounds awesome but I'm wondering if an alnico speaker would make a big difference.

Damn i was going to upgrade the speaker until I saw this. The stock speaker is much brighter & cleaner to my ears. The first one seemed muffled but that second one was nice. Thanks for posting.

The stock speaker has a bit of peaky highs. Much more noticible in person or in a mix. There's a ton of speakers to choose from and the crex is not particularly expensive.

Canabis is darker prefer stock JR brighter and notes more distinct but would take both 👍🔥🎸🦅 BTW awesome riffs👍

Both sound lovely. Great playing. My favourite (mere mortal/won’t bankrupt you amp) great at high volume great at low volume. Great great amps. 🇬🇧 (too many “greats” there) I love the amps (both do sound different I favour the Rex a little more but both kick ass)

Switched out the stock Jenson for a Celestion Redback G12H 8ohm in my Fender Deluxe Reverb ‘65 re-issue. Noticeable improvement in sound once the new speaker had broken in.

I liked them both ... hahahaha. Anyway, it would be nice to show us how many pedals the guitar goes through before and what effects you are using in the demo. As always a great contribution Rich. Greetings again from Chile, Austral land!

    Like em both.
If I was buying, I think I’d get the Eminence.
I was more into the playing than paying attention to the amps, very enjoyable.
    Thanks.

Both of these sounded pretty dang good. But if push came to shove I think the original stock sounded a bit brighter and to my untrained ear, a little bit cleaner. Like I said, liked them both but leaning a little bit towards the original Blues Junior IV

второй! Nice demo Rich.. I like both, I’m running a Bassbreaker 30R but inn just using it at home.. bit overkill. I prolly should’ve gone with one of these lol

Listening with headphones, the CR sounds louder, and more full of a sound. Not as ice picky or harsh highs, but it also didn't sound as chimy.

I also want to know, I got my blues jnr |V for 900 Australian,at my local shop got it cheap cause I go there all the time, then saw the limited edition cannabis Rex for 1,200 for a extra 300 would it be worth getting the cannabis rex? Tbh I do like the look of the original better

Can't say that I hear a difference. Neither sound good to me, but that is probably because of the amp. I have tried a blues Junior a few times in music stores and I quickly moved on the try other amps and found that the lower priced Fender Super Champ XD was a much better sounding and way more versatile amp and for considerably less $. I now am the proud owner of two of those and had heard demos online of them with the 10" Eminence Cannabis Rex and they sounded even better with that speaker in them. Enough said.

  • @Mark_Williams300

It be aqua and it be poiple.. 🤔
Aqua and poiple, it be!! 🙆‍♂️
Wouldn't you know it, but aqua be mine favourite colour.. I luv blue & green - and all the ways they interact with each other. Be that aqua, teal, turquoise, azure, lake placid blue... or two contrasting blue & green colours side by side: Kawasaki slime green juxtaposed next to toy car blue. I'm obsessed with blue/green!
    This amp, though... 😬
→ Let mine guit be lary... Salmon pink or metallic margarita green... Fiesta Red or Seafoam Green. But make mine amp classic - like tweed... or JCM800 gold & black. Even bright Orange... but just not aqua n' poiple.
    Just not aqua 'n' poiple!
    Yup.
