LYRICS: Where will I end up tonight?
Maybe that house again
Maybe the city by the lake
Because when I'm
I'm just sleeping
I'm fast to escape
Relate to feelings in mind
Relate to feelings in mind
This has been a collection
I have made
Wormholes connecting me
Through the ages
I thought that you would have met me there
Well I was wrong, I was deceived
To believe it now I know it's not real
Grab a hold of me
As I'm falling
Right back where I started from
Do I know you?
Do you know me?
I thought I heard you say
Meet me down by the lake
This has been a collection that I have made
Wormholes connecting me
Through the ages
Because when I dream of you
In this house we're in
In here with all these fears
Lie down and wait for me to grow old
Oh, oh sweet child
I recognize your face
From somewhere
I guess I have seen before
(Guess I have seen before)
I knew it then I'm
Back inside my apartment
Watching TV
Self loathing, chained up on my couch
I'm listening
'Cause now I'm so far from home
Sir can I ask you something?
How the fuck do I get home?
(How the fuck do I get home?)
Wormholes! Видеоклипы
It was 2010. I was doing late shifts somewhere near Birmingham, takin a bus back to the Coventry accompanied by tunes from that albums. Man, 13 years passed so quickly. Still listen to this album and Via, newer stuff didn't catched my mood. I feel so old listening to that, life got so different since.
What a time to be alive right?
I feel the same way. Crazy how fast time really goes, you don’t even realize it till you look back on things like this😢
Still fresh. Idc what anyone says. It's timeless
Same thing. Broke up my with ex gf. I was working at gap. Always Late night shift. Iwas staying at my friend's place. Broke as fuck. Every night on my way home on the train, via album. Edge of the earth always got me. Good times
i made a cunavent
I can’t stress enough just how insanely fresh and exciting this sound was back in the early 10s. Still holds up as an eternal banger.
They have no fucking idea
hell yeah
Yeah it really is crazy, especially considering Meshuggah had invented it basically 20 years prior with "Destroy Erase Improve", but it wasnt until after arguably After The Burial had popularized it that all us "Core-kids" started getting blessed by it with shit like this and its contemporaries
When the only vapes were box mods. No tiktok and you'd find me on modern warfare
WE NAMED THIS PODCAST AFTER THIS SONG 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Aged like fine wine
The snare on this album is still one of the best snare sounds I've ever heard
i love how we’re all just vibin in the nostalgia together. forever one of my favorite songs of all time
same
Ten years ago, this was my first song that introduce me to Djent.
Time flies, RIP Diego.
Yeah the Concept of Dreaming EP was my first taste of djent as well. This shit slaps so hard even 13 years later
This is barely Djent nowadays
@@jamesadamgleason9471 got some recommendations for newer djent stuff?
@@ethereal0ne vildjharta, humanities last breath.
for real this song is legendary. if there was a djent hall of fame they deserve to be in the top 5
3:50 goooood god. Come on. These dudes ate nothing but right
4:07-4:12 gets me so hyped.
this song never gets old
I’ve always thought 3:24 was the most beautiful sound. It makes me feel like I’m flying
I get the same feeling at the end of Via
This is how the genre "post rock" sounds like
I met with Diego in London show. He's such an amazing person. He was on the phone and I shouted "aye Diego. Can we take a picture?" he came and took a picture with us. We spoke for like an hour. Rest easy my bro. Still have the guitar pick you gave me
This song is pure energy. Over a decade and it still gives me goosebumps. One of the best outros in all of progressive metal. Ever.
Completely mind-blowing how ahead of it's time this album was. It literally spawned a whole wave of djent after it that emulated their sound. Thank you, Volumes.
Don’t worry about who you were when you first heard this. Just imagine where you can take this song with you today.
🥹🥹🥰
This is what I needed to read listening to this
@@jackmehoff5482 and I still hold the same regard. This is one of those songs that sounds better everyday. And its not because of nostalgia, is simply a masterfully produced orchestration.
The ORIGINAL Volumes
It still speaks Volume about what it used to be
💯
2:40 i'm crying...
Still remember the first time I heard this song. Fell in love instantly 🔥
This is me right now.
This is beautiful. People wonder why I like music with screaming, its because of beautiful tragedies like this
This whole album slaps so fucking hard. But you know what. I love where Volumes is at rn. Theyre the best theyve been ever. Happier? Is an insane album that brings a lot of new and refreshing aspects while retaining a lot of what we loved about this album.
Spot on!
Agreed that album slaps. A true return to form while moving the band forward.
Man, VIA and No Sleep were some of the greatest albums of the 2010s scene ❤
2:50 is still to this day one of my favorites.
The drums on this track are nasty 🤟🏽🔥
This band is the epitome of metal being about beat patterns and not melodic notes... This is insanely cool...
Will always be one of my favs. Memories of smoking and longboarding with my buddy Braedon at the Barrie Waterfront at 5am, 10 years ago. I will never forget.
One of my favorite songs of all time. I knew it was going to be something special all those years ago.
Still slaps all these years later, never gets old 😩🥰
I remember the first time I heard this song. I was letting RUclips play whatever music came on next and suddenly this played. It sounded like complete gibberish to my ears and I thought it sounded terrible. Sounded like random notes played at random times for no reason.
I went to the comments expecting everyone else to be saying the same thing I was thinking, but everyone was calling it an incredible masterpiece. I was so confused lmao. I kept listening to it trying to figure out what everyone else was hearing that I wasn’t getting.
After listening to it probably a dozen times, it suddenly just clicked out of nowhere. It was like my brain suddenly locked into the patterns they were playing, and I could instantly feel the groove. This song that ONE SECOND BEFORE sounded like complete nonsense, in a split second, suddenly made sense to me when my brain finally latched onto the groove. That blew my mind more than anything else ever had! Ever since that moment I’ve been obsessed with these kinds of songs.
Happened not so long ago i reflected upon these noises that brought me from my skin again.
Finally i can gasp for another breath of light as it bends around the remainder of my soul.
Very nostalgic album for me. Always spinning this album through high school and I’m still listening headed into my 30s.. rip Diego
“Lie down and wait for me to grow old
Oh sweet child I recognize your face, from some place I guess I have seen before” idk why this always stood out to me
GAAAAAAANNG
VIA is still to this day one of the best albums. Edge of the earth is so good.
Still hits hard since first time I listened to it. What a classic. ALL HAIL KING DIEGO FARIAS for the nasty riffage 🙌
This band was the exact reason I bought a 7 string for my first guitar instead of a normal 6, and this was the first song I had ever learned. Honestly, playing a 7 instead of a six made me a much better player, because I didn't feel limited with what I could play
A true classic!
After I finished school and moved 10 hours away from my family to try to make a life for myself, I would listen to this album from start to finish on so many shifts. It's been a while since I listened to these songs but this has still got to be one of my favorite albums ever.
I will never forget sharing the same bill with you guys at The Waterfront Tavern in Holyoke Massachusetts. VIA hadnt even been out yet. You guys were just touring on the EP. I still have my You Better Fucking Run & Hide, and Purple & Gold Volumes shirt from that night. Thank you Gus for being such a rad dude that night. My drummer passed away in the band that I was playing with at the time. Any time I hear this song I think of him.
I envy you.. #ripdiego
jUNT?
Was an epic night! One of my favorite concert nights!
Good ole Waterfront!!!
Years of my life spent jamming this album and song in particular. THANK YOU Volumes! ❤️
the awesome old days (2010) working out or just walking with this song loud AF!!!! + R.I.P Diego Farias +
Rip Diego 🤟🏼
Will forever miss Diego 💔
Gotta be one of the best metalcore entries of all time
Oh shit, y’all got them rights back! Nice.
still and always remains one of the greatest songs ive ever heard. Rip Diego ❤
Still blasting this in my headphones and car
This song gives me ALL the feels
They were robbed of the 1M+ view count on the original upload.
Prince was calling this out decades ago openly; it’s sickening how manipulative the music industry has gotten.
Artists deserve full credit & compensation for their creations.
Rest easy Diego.
All the love fellas,
2009 into ∞
What hapenned
I think they were at 11 mil before it got taken away
Now the song Mixture hits way different
Fuck this industry, we can have metal back
This song brings me back home to Cali no matter where I am in the world. Repping SD in SA everyday!!!! EDIT: Came back almost a year later
Excellentence @ it's best
I love this album and this song! Just mind blowing, full on chills, absolutely love this song! Holy shit I swear music the is best drug there is because you can't get the feeling of this song anywhere else! Bring me to fucking tears sometimes it so beautiful to me.
from ep, to the new album .. i hope they can do live in Malaysia .. 😢
This whole album is magical. Never got bored of it!
Any time I hear a song off of VIA it's instant nostalgia and almost tearing up. Wormholes was the first song of theirs that I heard back in 2011. I'd never heard anything like it before, the beautiful atmospheric melodies over the heavy/groovy polyrhythmic patterns and the unique vocal delivery of Michael and Gus. Volumes started my journey into the world of progressive metal and djent
EMGs baby!
I never had streamed VIA until around 2020. The album sound so new to me. I respect that this album is nostalgic to many people but to me this album reminds me of my recent adult life.
I listen to this album solely because it fucking rips.
Something about the album invokes a feeling of happiness
I was 9 years old when I got introduced to Volumes... shit still hits hard, RIP DIEGO
R.I.P. Diego. This song and the whole VIA album has been such an important part of my life.
God i love this sound.. via was so fucking good.
Best DJENT song ever
That song I don't think will ever get old ..
💯🔥❕️❕️
Is this what it feels like knowing you’re getting older? How has it been like 13 years since this song came out? When I was 13, I was playing Halo 3 and CoD 4. Now it’s been an entire 13 since this song came out. Damn.
RIP Diego. Love you guys for pushing forward. Had the pleasure of chilling in the tour bus a decade ago in OH. Monumental, revolutionary. Drop A kings. Perhaps the cleanest vocals in the entire sector of music.
Classic 👌 the good old days RIP Diego 🙏
after so many years, great quality!
miss this shit bad
I love this band so much this was one of the first songs I heard by them it's still a favorite for sure!
This song introduced me to Volumes! still my jam today since 2012! Badass album!
the first song i hear from Volumes... Change all my life ! LOVE YOU GUYS !!!
Saludos desde Argentina !
2:42 on loop in my head about 10 years
❤
this is the first time I've listened to these guys in a few years. This gave me the same energy I remember. Loved it🙌🖤
Never gets old ♥From the old MySpace days when just this, and Intake were on there lol.
2:41 ❤
Volumes 2010, truly one of the greats.
2023 and still basting this shhhii. Way ahead of there time. I till havent heard to this day a metal band sound like this.
This song was so far ahead of its time
I absolutely love this song and am so glad to have an accompanying video.
1:44 makes me want to flip a table or something
Such a good tune!
Straight up time-traveling bards of brutality. All this time, all these changes, & y’all can STILL make my eyes rain. Beautiful.
One of the all time classic riffs of the djent scene. Fun times.
I was learning the songs of my first band by ear when this dropped. They needed a new guitarist and had to learn the stuff in a week. Memories
Definitely one of my most favorite tracks.
This album got me through my junior year of high school. I've been to every show you guys have done in Portland, OR. I got to meet Myke and Gus one year at the Hawthorne Theater. They came into the bar and I was able to get a photo and chat with them for a moment. Hope life is well for you guys, if you ever tour again and come to Portland I'll be sure to come party with ya'll! haha
This was such unexpected nostalgia. You guys and Monuments were precisely what expanded my musical tastes outward from what I believed was a niche genre. Thank you for the memories.
2:53. Tears, man. Tears.
2:41 is beautiful. There's so much sadness behind that melody.
Absolute slappin’ classic
Yes!
SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥
The concept of dreaming is such an amazing EP.
Really great song!!
Seeing this video for the first time all those years ago permanently altered my brain chemistry
The Best Album Ever 🖤🖤
The grooviest 💙
Damn. Nostalgic!
Seeing these guys at the cobalt cafe was such an experience. Hope to see these guys again one day
So in love!! 2:40 🖤🖤
this video aged so well, man the nostalgia hits hard with this one 😢
What a classic tune
this song speaks Volumes!
